Happy New Year and some exciting news!!

First of all I would like to tell ya'll Happy New Year! When I started this blog in May, I never thought I would have the followers that I do. I just wanted a space to put my creations and to try out some challenges. Now I have over 100 followers and I couldn't be happier. Well, I guess I could, but I'm really really thrilled that I got to and have exceeded 100!!! Don't forget to click on the picture over there to the right and enter for the blog candy I'm giving away Sunday evening. God has so blessed me with all the awesome friends that I have made through this wonderful hobby of ours. I am so thankful for each one of you. My hopes and Prayers for 2011 is that everyone is healthy, happy and has all the crafting supplies that they could ever wish for!!! Now for my exciting news: I have been excepted to be on the design team at Flaunt It Fridays !!! I am so super excited about it!!!! This is a new challenge blog. This week is just their 5th challenge. They post a new one every Friday. They tell you which cartridge and cut to use. But now, if you don't have that cart, find a cut similar from another cartridge and use it. You have until the next Thursday to enter the challenge. Sandra from 365daysofcricut and Janis from pausedreamenjoy are the co-founders. And they have an awesome group of designers to 'Flaunt' their creations every week. They do encourage you to make something different each week. Like a card this week, a layout the next, home decor, etc. Although it is not manditory to do so. You can 'Flaunt' your creations anyway that you choose. It's just fun to try different things. I hope ya'll will hop over and join in the fun every week. I will start my run as a DT member with a blog hop on January 7th. See ya'll there!
Be safe this New Year's weekend! We are doing Christmas at our Daughter's tomorrow. They had the flu last week. It has just extended the Holidays for us. And I'm so excited to get together with the Kiddies, Chickadees and my Parents. Love you all and 'Please' be safe!!! :)

Flaunt It Fridays #4

The lastest Flaunt It Fridays challenge is to use the turtle on page 64 from the Create A Critter cartridge. Now I soooooo loooooove Create A Critter!! I just had to think about how I wanted to flaunt it!! I decided to make a bag from Tags Bags Boxes and More cartridge. I fit it on an 12x12 page on my Gypsy Girl. Then I started sizing my turtle to fit the front of the bag. I cut her in some tan and cut her shell from DCWV Citrus Stack. I love the blue with the white swirls. The swirls made what looks like little flowers and I decided that would be perfect to put bling in the center of! I used white half pearls that I colored. Her darling little face is from Peachy Keen Stamp set-Critter Faces Set A Medium. Then I popped her on the front of my bag. I cut the heart tag from TBBM also. It is under the mirror layer. I just used the hide feature and hid the other 3 cuts so it left me with just the heart. I blinged it up and used Peachy Keen Stamp set-Snow Cutie Face Assortment for her darling face. Then I used some twine from Papertreyink to tie it onto my bag. I also did some faux stitching on the bag. Hop over and join in on the fun!! They post a new challenge every Friday and it is just soooo much fun to 'Flaunt It'!
Hope ya'll like my little bag!!! :)

Cricut Cardz Challenge #55

Mary and the DT over at Cricut Cardz Challenge have taken the Holidays off, but before they did, they issued the last challenge for 2010. Challenge #55 is to make a Christmas card with a mini banner on the front, using any cartridges and colors you'd like. You have until midnight EST, Tuesday, January 4th to link your card. For my card I used the Joys of the Season cartridge for the chimney and the Christmas cart for the banner. I did some layering to get the different colors for the fire and the logs. The designer cardstock that is my bg is from Graphic 45-Christmas Past Collection-Glad Tidings. I wrote the sentiment on the banner. Hop on over and join in. I now have my first card for next year! Hope ya'll like it!!! :)

I hope everyone had an awesome Christmas!! We had a pretty good one! My Sis and Brother-in-law were here from Texas and that was great! Christmas Eve was spent partly with DS/DDIL and the 5 Grands. Our DD/DSIL have flu at their house. First two of the Grands and then the other two and then our DSIL!! So we will have our Christmas with them this coming weekend. Hope everyone got just what they wanted!! DH got me a gift card from Hobby Lobby! I can always use that!!!
It is time for another challenge over at Paper Playtime For challenge #31 you are to make anything to do with New Year's. Our challenge this week is being sponsored by our very own Paper Queen Sheree of Cravin Scrappin! Check out Sheree's blog. She does some awesome work!! I made a 6x6 card. The patterned bg cardstock is from DCWV-the Doodlin' Around Stack For All Year Round. Such a fun stack! The clock is cut from Happily Ever After cartridge and the sentiment is cut from Wild Card. I pop dotted the clock and used my i-rock and blinged it up. On the inside, I used the cut outs from the clock for 12 o'clock and the inside cutout from the clock hand. Now it is your turn. Create anything from paper and hop over and link it up! You have until midnight, EST, Sunday January 2. And while you are there, check out the awesome creations our Royal Court has created!! Flaunt It Fridays #3

This week over at Flaunt It Fridays the challenge is to use the cup with lemon cut on page 48 from the Simply Charmed cartridge. And you are to 'FLAUNT' it!!! I made a 6x6 card. I used AC APatterned Paper-Heat Wave as my bg. Summer is cut from Straight From The Nest cart. Fun is rub-on letters. I used my i-rock and rocks for the earrings and the bubbles coming from the glass. I did some doodling. The adorable faces are Peach Keen-Happy Lashes Assortment Stamp Set that I won from the premere of Flaunt It Fridays!! Thank You Ladies! I so love them!!!! Now, they post a new challenge every Friday, so hop over and join in on the fun! Hope ya'll like my card!! :)

Pecan Tassies

Okay, here is what I have spent the day doing: Pecan Tassies. I make these every year at Christmas time only. I give them as gifts at work. If I didn't make them I think they would run me off!! LOL They usually start asking about them in November! Now this makes 24. And I made 8 batches. Then I made 2 batches of crust that I put peanut butter cups in. One of the guys at work does not eat pecans. I don't know what's wrong with him!! You have to do the crust by hand. Mix, seperate and mold into pan cups. If you would like the recipe just leave me your e-mail addy and I'll send it to you. The first photo is Pecan Tassies and the second is some with peanut butter cups in them.

Paper Playtime Challenge #30

It is Monday and we only have 5 shopping days until Christmas!! My shopping is done but not the wrapping. Today I have to do my baking for everyone at work. I'll have to post a photo of that when I get it done. I do these little things called Pecan Tassies. They are yummy. And then before the week is out, I'll be making a couple of Honey Bun Cakes. Super yummy!!! Now that I hope I have your mouth watering, on to what Monday is: another Paper Playtime challenge!! This is challenge #30 and the theme is Anything Christmas. You can make a card, layout, 3-D item, altered item, anything made of paper. I decided to make a layout this week. I used Winter Frolic for my Christmas Tree, Wrap It Up for the Snowflake and Sweethearts for the Presents. The 'ornaments' on the tree are different colors of Stickles. I just did dots all over it! The bg cardstock that I used is from making memories-12x12 Postage Stripe Noel. I used graphic 45-Christmas Past Collection-Glad Tidings to cut the Snowflake from. I will post my photo there when I get one made this year. I also used My Christmas Dolly digi stamp from Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps and More I colored her with my Prismacolor Color Pencils and Odorless Mineral Spirits. Robyn is sponsoring our challenge this week. Go check out her digi stamps! They are just adorable!! Ya'll have until midnight EST, Sunday December 26th to link your creation. While you are there check out the awesomeness that the other Paper Queens have to share! Thank you for coming by! Can't wait to see your creations!! Hope ya'll like my layout!! :)

FIF challenge #2

I'm pushing it to get this posted! I have to leave for work shortly and wouldn't you know it, my camera and computer didn't want to chit chat with each other!!! It has taken me over an hour and a half to get this far!!! I know they have to be male! A real pain in the #*!! LOL Okay, enough of my complaining. This is the 2nd challenge for the wonderful new challenge bog Flaunt it FridaysThis time we are to use the sleigh on page 74 from Paper Doll Dress Up cart. It took me enough time to come up with a card. I decided on what to cut my sleigh from-DCWV-the Christmas Combo Stack-the gold, pattern and green. And then I was stumped. What to do with it. (insert Jeopardy music here) Last night it hit me at about 10pm! I got up this morning, surfed a little online and then went and finished my card only to hit the chit chat problem. The bg pattern paper is from October Afternon-Very Merry-Trim the Tree. The sentiment is computer generated and then punched with a EK punch and the Santa hat is from PDDU. I used my Zig 2 Way pen and glued the brim and pompom on the hat and then sprinkled some really fine white glitter on it. FIF posts a new challenge every Friday. So hop over and check it out and join in on the awesome fun!! Hope ya'll like my card!!!!! :)

I used Daisy Bucket-The Way Love Goes paper as my background. And I did use the hair dryer. Two to be exact! And the hearts. That's all. I did use Peachy Keen Simple Simon and Simple Sallies face stamps. I think it turned out pretty cute. They post a new challenge every Friday and you have until the following Wednesday at 11:59 to link it. Hope ya'll like my card!! :)

The bg paper is from American Crafts-Merrymint-Candy Stripe. My sentiment is from a set of 3 stamps from the dollar bin at M's. It came with two Merry's and one Christmas. I cut out my tag from an EK tag punch and use little half pearls at the points. I am really pleased with how my little Jingles turned out. DH really liked him, too! Paper Playtime Blog Hop!!!

I am closing my blog hop post now so I can print out all comments and draw a winner!

Oh My Gosh! I can't believe that it is finally here! This is my first time doing a blog hop. Of course I've hopped along on others, left love and praise and even won some great things!! Now it is my turn to hopefully help you make some stocking stuffers. Now if you came from Maria's blog than you are in the right place. But if you just happened to stop by, click here to start at the beginning. Now I want to forewarn you that this is picture heavy!!!
I used vinyl to alter all of my projects. My first project is Hand Sanitizer bottle.
I removed the labels from the front and back of the bottle. Washed it and dried it really well. I used my Gypsy to cut out the oval scallop with the letter inside. I did not weld the letter so that it would cut out.
Now for those that don't have a Cricut but have a Cuttlebug, Big Shot, etc., you can still use vinyl. I used my Cuttlebug to cut out these flowers. Stacked them and put a white half pearl in the middle and put on the back side of the bottle.
Next I took a round candle holder and put a letter on the side of it and took my Cuttlebug and cut a couple of snowflakes from Spellbinders Snowflake Wonder.
The last project that I made is a photo frame that I turned into a post-it note holder.
I cut some patterned cardstock to go where the picture would. Took my Gypsy and welded a flourish with a letter to cut from the vinyl and put at the 'top' which is really the bottom of the frame.
Then attached the post-it notes and added some ribbon at the top.
This is all of my projects. The hand sanitizer, the candle holder and the photo frame were all purchase at Dollar Tree. Yep, a dollar each. Not shabby at all! Didn't take a lot of vinyl to do each project either. Now, I can't take credit for coming up with these projects. The sanitizer and photo frame is something we did at Scrap Camp and the candle holder I've seen done online somewhere. Sorry, can't remember where. I haven't seen where anyone has cut vinyl with there Cuttlebug before but I'm sure there is someone
somewhere that has.  I wanted those that do not have a Cricut to be able to do these also. I wasn't really sure it would work! Here is a photo off all of the projects that I did:
Here is the line up:

Well that is it. If you have made it this far than Thank You!! Hope ya'll have enjoyed seeing my projects. Now you are off to see what awesomeness Michelle has for ya'll!!
Oh, almost forgot! The blog candy I'm offering! I will pick a winner on Monday Dec. 13th. by random dot hubby! I'll print out and cut apart the comments and let DH pick one out! Will announce the winner on Tuesday Dec. 14th. Please leave a way for me to get in touch with you like an e-mail addy. Here is what I'm offering!
We are also honored by great sponsors that are giving us awesome stuff that will be given from Paper Playtime Go there to see what all will be given away! Some grand stuff!!! :)

Crafty Creations #97

Crafty Creations challenge this week is to do a project that contains the image of a bear. I decided to use the Teddy Bear from the Sugar and Spice cartridge. I cut it from s.e.i playday pack cardstock and the bg is also from this stack. I hid the face features so I could use the Everday Character Faces Parts and More stamps from Peachy Keen Stamps. I didn't want to put the bow in the hair so I used it as a bowtie. That way I can use this as either a boy or girl card. I haven't added a sentiment. I will do that when I decide who and what I will use this card for. Hop over and enter your Beary project! They post a new challenge every Wednesday! Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

My Sheri Crafts #34

This week over at My Sheri Crafts the challenge this week is to make a Hanukkah project focusing on the Blue and Silver (or white) color scheme. I have never made a Hanukkah card before. I decided to cut the Star of David from the Joys of the Season cartridge. I cut it in the silver and the piece on top in a light blue. I then used Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist on it to give it a little shine. The bg paper I had cut to use with another card and then didn't. Decided it would be perfect for this one. Sorry I can't remember who makes it. That's all there is to my card. I'm sorry that I'm just at a loss here. Hop over and join in on the fun! Sheri posts a new challenge every Saturday! Hope ya'll like my card!! :)

BittenbytheBug2 and CricutCardz #54

I was so excited to discover that I could combine these two challenges this week! I'm having a crazy work week and have to work all this weekend (8a-9p on Sunday) and I'm just trying to cram so much into each moment I have to craft. Over at Bitten by the Bug 2 Joanna got to host the challenge this week. She chose Winter Frolic and the Santa on page 53. Now if you don't have this cart you can use any Santa from any cart. They post a new challenge every Monday. Over at Cricut Cardz Challenge the challenge is to make a circle shaped Christmas card, using any cartridge. The only catch is that you can't use any red or green on your card. You have until Tuesday Dec. 14th at midnight, I think EST to enter. I cut my circle card from Smiley Cards. I also cut a smaller circle for the front and inside and then a smaller one for the top layer on the inside. I cut my Santa from Winter Frolic and dressed him in purple! Yeah, purple!!! Couldn't use red or green so thought purple would be cute. I used some Diamond Stickles on the ball on hat, cuff of hat and the fur running down the front and bottom of his jacket. I used Black Diamond Stickles on the center of his belt and Glossy Accents on the rest of the belt and shoes. Used tiny half black pearls for his eyes. And then I popped him up!! I used some letter stamps to do the sentiment. The bg paper is from s.e.i playday pack. Now hop over and join in the fun!
Hope ya'll like my round Christmas card!!! :)

Jitterbuggin-Sketch 27

Sherri has provided another great sketch for another great challenge over at Jitterbuggin this week. All she asked is for you to add your favorite Christmas treat to the sketch and put on a little rickrack. I used George to cut out the shapes on the front of my card and Winter Frolic for the Gingerbread Family. Used Peachy Keen stamps for their faces. The pattern piece of cardstock is from American Crafts-Merrymint-Milk and Cookies and the Red and Green pieces below that are from DCWV-the Christmas Combo Stack. I hand wrote the sentiment on the front since I didn't have a stamp that said Yum Yum. Hope over and enter this challenge. You have until Wednesday, Dec. 8 at 11:59pm. Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

Flaunt It Fridays-Challenge 1

I'm so excited about this new challenge blog! Flaunt It Fridays will post a new challenge every Friday. They will post a challenge using a different cartridge and page for you to use. This first challenge is to use Winter Frolic cartridge and use the snowman on page 29. I decided to make mine a snowwoman. I cut the hat from Gypsy Wanderings. I put some flock on the brim and bow of the hat and the scarf. Put her a Peachy Keen face on and popped her up. Stamped Joy on her hat. Hop over and join in the fun!! Hope ya'll like my Snowwoman!! :)

Crafty Creations Challenge #96

This week over at Crafty Creations they challenge you to make a gift card holder. Now, we always give my Mom and Dad gift cards for everything. Its the easiest thing to give for those that really don't need anything.
They really like getting them. Mom gets one from Lowes so she can get stuff for her flower beds and Dad gets one from Books-a-Million 'cus he loves to read. Dad has a great sense of humor so I made him this holder. I use Smiley Cards for both of the card holders. Hope ya'll like them!! :)
I made a pouch behind the smiley face to put Dad's gift card.
I used a Peachy Keen face on the flower. I popped up the sentiment piece on the inside to put Mom's gift card in.

Cricut Cardz Challenge #53

Mary over at Cricut Cardz Challenge decided to do a little different challenge. It is to make a set (2 or more) of 3x3 Christmas gift cards of a set (2 or more) of Christmas gift tags. You can use any cartridges or colors.
You have until midnight, EST, Tuesday, Dec. 7th. I made the 3x3 gift cards, but I think you could use them as gift tags if you wanted. I used Wrap It Up cartridge to cut everything from. I sprayed Peqarl Glimmer Mist on the ones with the poinsettas on them and used Crystal Stickles on one and Diamond Stickles on the other one of the snowflakes. I put some star bling in the middle of the snowflakes and some yellow bling in the center of the poinsettas. Hope ya'll like my little cards!! :)

Another weekend is over and here it is Monday again. If it keeps this up, Christmas will be next week!!! LOL Thank goodness we have a few more weeks but it is fast approaching! This week, for challenge #28 at Paper Playtime our theme is 'Use Snowflakes'. Interpret this theme any way that you like. You can also create any type of paper project that you want, be it a card, layout, altered item, 3-D item, just as long as it is made with paper.  The Stamping Boutique is sponsoring us this week. Hop over and see all the awesome digi stamps that Tracey has to offer!  Tracey was so kind as to allow us to use some of her digi stamps this week if we wanted. I used Turtle Doves. I used my Prismacolor Colored Pencils to color this awesome Snowman and Doves. Then I just cut around the stamp and mounted it on Basic Grey-Eskimo Kisses- cardstock. I punched some snowflakes with my MS punch and put these neat MS-bright large gemstone stickers in the center of the snowflakes. I didn't use my Cricut this week. I think I'm really enjoying doing some of my cards old style. Hop on over to Paper Playtime and join us! You have until midnight, EST, December 12 to link your creation! And while you are over there linking, check out the awesome creations that the Queen's have made to inspire you! Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)
