Bitten By The Bug 2 Curly Tree

I bet ya'll know what you are to use for the challenge over at Bitten By The Bug 2 don't cha?! Yes, a curly tree. In fact the curly tree which is the first tree in the booklet from the Heritage cartridge. Now, I  haven't used this cartridge much at all. And never thought about the leafless trees. But now I think I may be using it a lot!! Of course, they said that you can still play along even if you don't have this cart. Just use a tree from another one. I picked up this great paper pack from Hobby Lobby. It is Paper Studio-Spooksville. Brand new for this year. It is 8 1/2 by 11 inch paper pack. This piece that I used really does a lot of the work for me. I cut the bottom part off for the front and used the top on the inside. I cut the pieces an 8th of an inch smaller than my card base. I cut 3 of the tree and glued them all together. The ghosts are cut from Happy Hauntings cartridge. I flipped some of them so they could face the other way, too. I did the back for the eyes/mouth and then 2 layers of white for each one. I popped up the trunk of the tree and some up the branches and glued a small place on each of the 2 ghosts behind the tree 'cus it was sticking up. The sentiment is a clear stamp that I had picked up at our LSS when it was opened. This challenge goes for 2 weeks. Although they do post a new challenge every Monday. Ya'll have plenty of time to join in on the fun! Hope ya like my card!!!! :)

Birthday Sundaes Challenge #24

What a fun challenge Birthday Sundaes is having this week! You are to create a birthday card using this photo as inspiration:

http://urbancomfort.typepad.com/urban_nest/2010/02/cupcake-flags.html
I cut my cupcake and hearts from the Create-A-Critter cartridge. They can be found on pg. 36. The two designer bg papers and hearts paper are from Cosmo Cricket-Garden Variety. I cut the frosting 3 times. I glued down the first one, then popped up the next one and then the next one on top of it after running this one through my Cuttlebug using the Polka Dots embossing folder. I finished off my cupcake with bling for sprinkles. The hearts are also popped up. The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper Simply Sweet Occasions stamp set. They post a new challenge every Sunday, so ya'll have plenty of time to create and post. Just don't forget to put birthday wording on the front of your card! Hope ya'll like my card!!!!! :)

Paper Cutz Challenge #106

This week over at Paper Cutz the challenge is 'Wish Upon A Star'. Make a card, layout or craft project using stars and any colors and theme. I dug through my stash and found this striped paper and this star paper that I thought would be cute for this card. Haven't a clue who put it out. I cut the star border from the Life's A Party cartridge and the All Star is from the Holiday Cakes cartridge. I did some popping and doodling and finished it up. This challenge goes through midnight, Thursday, September 1st. Hope ya'll like my card!!!! :)

Cricut Cardz Challenge #89

The current challenge at Cricut Cardz is 'It's a Jungle Out There!' Make a child's birthday card using something you'd see in a jungle. Oh No!!!! I totally forgot to put a birthday sentiment on my card!!!! I'll be right back! Okay, I'm back. Sometimes I wonder where my brain has skipped off to! I decided to use the Create-A-Critter cartridge since it has cute jungle animals on it. I cut the gator-pg. 45, the zebra-pg. 47 and the lion-pg. 57. The bg designer papers are from sassafras-Bungle Jungle. I also used Lemon Drop and Lilac twine from The Twinery. This challenge goes through midnight EST, Tuesday, August 30th. Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)
I have a confession to make about my adventure with the sentiment. I picked this cute little wooden stamp from my collection, 'cus it looks like a child's printing. I inked it up, looked at the picture on the top of the stamp and stamped right on my card. When I lifted the stamp up, it was upside down and to top it off, it was stamped just perfect!!!!!! The stamp itself and the picture are opposite! So that's why it is stamped on white cardstock! And I know I can't be the only one that has ever done that one!!!! LOLOLOL

Paper Playtime Stamping Monday

First of all I want to say that I hope and pray that all of those that were in Irene's path are safe! I am keeping ya'll in my prayers.
Welcome to another great challenge at Paper Playtime! We are so glad you are joining us for our August Stamping Monday Challenge!!! Our theme for this challenge is Vacation. How to play along: Make a project with the theme Vacation using a Stamped or Digi Image/Sentiment. Easy Peasy!! So for all you Cricut Lovers out there-you can still play along by adding a Stamped sentiment. And for all you Digi Lovers out there-use any Digi image and/or sentiment on your project. You can enter as many times as you'd like as long as all your entries are NEW projects and NO backlinks to previous blog posts.
Now with that said, How do ya'll like the new name?! Neat isn't it?!! This way everyone can play along!!!!!
Now for my projects. Okay, cards!!! All of my Digi's are from Di's Digi Designs. Hop over and check things out. Di is starting a challenge blog on Sept. 10th and has some blog candy connected to the launch. You really need to check 'that' out!!
I colored all of my digi's with Copics.
My first card's digi is called Nautical Bears. Aren't they just adorable?! The bg designer paper is from Hobby Lobby's open stock. I didn't put a sentiment on this one yet. Have to decide who I want to give it to and then I will.
My second card's digi is called Cute Carly. I used a red Spica on her lips, eyelids and bracelets and a black one on her dress, where I added the dots to it. The black cardstock is from DCWV-the immortal love cardstock stack and the red piece on top of the black is from the immortal love paper stack. I added some black and red half pearls to finish off my card. I'll add a sentiment when I get ready to send it to someone.
My third card's digi is called Seaside Ted. Now I would love to join Ted there at the beach! The yellow designer paper is from American Crafts-Heat Wave Pack. The sentiment is computer generated and I added some rhinestones to complete my card.
Last but for sure not least is my fourth card. The digi is called Cute Canter. Now I was kinda lost on what kind of a card to do with this digi. I searched my stash and came across this piece from My Mind's Eye-Brown Grid Dots. I computer generated the sentiment on this one also. Added the red half pearls to the sentiment piece and the inside.
Ya'll have until noon, PST, Saturday September 10th to link up your project. Can't wait to see what ya'll create!! Don't forget to check out what my DT Sisters have created to inspire ya'll with! Some awesomeness for sure!! They never cease to amaze me with their talent!! Hope ya'll like my cards!!! :)

Bitten By The Bug 2-Happy Hauntings

Happy Hauntings is the cartridge of choice this week over at Bitten By The Bug 2. The challenge is to use any frame from this cartridge. Now ya'll know that if you don't have this cart, you can use a frame from another cart. I picked the frame on page 46. I cranked up my Gypsy Girl and popped it onto the screen. I wanted it rectangle shaped instead of squared. I also did a copy of it, hid the center cutout piece so it wouldn't cut, because I wanted a backing to my frame. I went with this blue instead of the usual black. I wanted to mount it on this awesome dp from American Crafts-Halloween Venom. Isn't that a great name for this paper?! The sentiment is from Little Yellow Bicycle-Boo Ville Monogram Cut Out Sheet. Has all of these great alpha's on it with Halloween things and some of them are sentiments like this one. I cut it out and rounded the corners. Now for my little character. He is a digi stamp from Stamp Fairy. He is one of the freebies. Isn't he adorable?! Hop over and look at the awesome digi's!! I colored him with my Copics, cut him out and popped him onto the frame. The frame is also popped. I used my black jelly roll pen to do the doodling. I finished my card off with some black and white half pearls from Recollections. This challenge runs for 2 weeks so you have plenty of time to enter, but remember that they always post a new challenge on
Mondays. Hope ya'll like my card!!!! :)

Birthday Sundaes Challenge #23

This weeks challenge over at Birthday Sundaes is a color challenge. Pink, green and white are the given colors. Any shades of pink and green can be used. You can also use neutrals if needed. I used black as my neutral color. I pulled down my Paisley cartridge since I haven't cut anything from it in forever. I flipped through the booklet and the i-pod caught my eye. It looks a little like mine. Although mine isn't green. It's sliver with white wires. I decided to go with pastel colors for the card and layers. I used my scallop scallop punch on the pink stripe across the front. I really like the music notes that are on the same page, so cut those, too. I computer generated the sentiment as I was singing 'Happy Birthday To You.........'! I didn't pop anything up on this card, but did bling it a little and did some doodling. You have until this Saturday, August 27th to create a birthday card and enter. Don't forget to put birthday wording on the front and use only pink, green and white!! Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

My Sheri Crafts Challenge #67

The current challenge over at My Sheri Crafts is vacation. Now I haven't had my vacation this year yet. I'm hoping for the end of Sept./first of Oct. Not sure though. Won't go anywhere, but being off would be great! For this challenge you are to make a project featuring vacation. Since I haven't been, I decided to do a suitcase. I used the Pack Your Bags cartridge and my Gypsy Girl. I used the suitcase on page 34, welded two together at the bottom and made a shaped card. I cut all the layers for the front, just a few for the inside. The dp is atd-momenta-Family Outings Paper Pad. I placed the cutouts in a way that the dp could be the sentiment for my card. I really like the 'are we there yet?', 'cus I sure would love to be there!! There, where? A clear blue water beach, with some palm trees, a cool drink in my hand and a soft light breeze.......Oh, sorry, I was daydreaming!! Since Sheri's challenges are going for 2 weeks right now, you have plenty of time to create and enter a project!! Hope ya'll like my card!!!! :)
I have been invited to enter my card over at Paper Variety for their travel theme challenge. Thank you Paper Variety for the invite to enter!! :)

Cricut Cardz challenge #88

'Back to School-The 3 R's' is the theme of the current challenge over at Cricut Cardz Challenge. You are to make a Back to School card using the 3 R's-ribbon, rhinestones and the color red. I picked up Chore Charts lite cartridge at Wal-Mart for $29 a few weeks ago.  I like the books cut on it, so decided to make it into a shaped card. I welded two of the shapes together and cut it in 'red'. I also cut the book shape from sassafras-Bungle Jungle paper.  Then in white for the sentiment on the inside. 'School Days' is cut from the 3 Birds on Parade cartridge and the bus is cut from the Beep Beep lite cartridge. I ran a thin 'red ribbon' along the spine of the book and finished it off with some 'red rhinestones'. I also did some doodling. You have until midnight, EST Tuesday, August 23rd to link up a card. Hope ya'll like mine!!! :)

My Sheri Crafts Challenge #66 and Cards by Jovan

I made this card for two challenges. The first one is My Sheri Crafts. The challenge is to make something for back to school. Included is decorating book covers, journals, notebooks or bookmarks. The other challenge I'm entering my card in, is part of a Back-to-School blog hop that was Sat. August 13th that Cards by Jovan was hosting and the ending to it is a challenge. Jovan has some awesome give-a-ways with this challenge. So check both of these sites out and enjoy the awesome inspiration that both offer!! Now, on to my card. I had made a bookmark and did not like it one little bit. Not at all! It was a sorry excuse for a bookmark. So I knew I had to come up with something else. I decided to color this awesome digi image-School Goodies-Cutie Boy from Whimsie Doodles. (Check out her digis-awesomeness!) I think he is just adorable. Then I got to hunting for some school paper that I was so sure that I had in my stash. Couldn't find it anywhere. Stopped at Hobby Lobby after work yesterday and picked up this cute 'abc's' paper from their open stock. The sentiment is computer generated, trimmed down and inked to match the inked edges of the card and bg paper. The buttons I got from my stash. I'm really pleased with how this card turned out. You have until Saturday August 20th to enter either or both of these challenges. Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

Paper Cutz Challenge #104

Boy I'm running this challenge with Paper Cutz almost to the deadline, aren't I?! I almost didn't do this challenge at all. I seem to be behind this week and I didn't have anything in turquoise which is one of the requirements of the challenge. I popped into Hobby Lobby yesterday after work and spent to much money. But everything was half off that I bought! I found these flowers that I thought would work for the turquoise part. The rest of the requirements are red, white and black. These are the only colors you can use for this color challenge. I decided to use this awesome Bible verse from one of Dees Ruby Tuesday Scripture's over at Dee's Bugaboo Boutique. Every Tuesday Dee has a different scripture that she has done with word art. They are just awesome! I printed it out, trimmed it down and rounded the corners. For the black and white I used this cardstock from Making Memories-Black and White Paper Pad. I picked it up somewhere. My guess clearanced. Then for the red, I went with this red and white gingham ribbon from Hobby Lobby. I finished it off with the flowers and some white half pearls. Check out both Paper Cutz Challenge and Dee's Bugaboo Boutique. A new challenge starts tomorrow over at Paper Cutz! Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

Birthday Sundaes Challenge #22

I had a great time creating my card this week for the Birthday Sundaes challenge! You are to incorporate at least 3 brads onto your birthday card and as always, don't forget to add some birthday wording/sentiment to the front. Now I have a brad or 2 in my stash. Decided to choose my brads first and then design my card around them. I went with these cute brads from DCWV-Safari Kids. The sentiment tag is also from this line. The bg designer cardstocks are from the Safari Kids Stack. The twine is Blossom from The Twinery and the sentiment is from My Pink Stamper stamp set More Punny-licious. The hippo was cut from the Create-a-Critter cartridge. I think she is just too cute! This challenge just started so ya'll have plenty of time to enter a card. They won't post a new challenge until this Sunday! Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

Cricut Cardz Challenge #87

The current challenge over at Cricut Cardz is 'Straight from the Heart'. You are to make a thank you card using hearts, any cartridges and any colors except pink or red. Hummmmm a heart that isn't pink or red. I really had to think of what color to use for my heart. Was digging through my stash and came across DCWV the Mariposa Stack. Loved the pattern piece that I decided to use for the bg. Then back to picking a heart color. I also have the Mariposa Cardstock Stack so flipped through it. Came across this green that I really like. Cut my hearts from it using my E2 and the Better Together Imagine Art cartridge. The sentiment on the heart is a wooden stamp and the rest of the sentiment was computer generated and then punched out with an EK Success punch. Real quick and simple card. I did some popping to give it dimension. I think I really like how simple it is. Hope ya'll do too!!! :)
Oh, you have until EST, Tuesday, August 16th to link up your card.

Paper Playtime Special Digi Challenge

Paper Playtime is having a special challenge for this week. Our sponsor is Whimsie Doodles. Melyssa was so super awesome to share some digi's with us to do some creating with. As a special offer for Sunday Sketch and Stamp Fans Melyssa is providing the discount code PaperPlay10 for you to use at the Whimsie Doodles online store and receive 10% off your next order!! The code expires 30 days from today-August 15th. How exciting is that?!
And as cream on the pie, so to speak, Melyssa is giving one lucky winner from this weeks challenge a $10 gift certificate to her online store!! Now that is really exciting, too!!! But you can't win if you don't enter our challenge. You have until noon Saturday, August 20th to link up your creation. Now, onto my creations.
The first one I would like to share with ya'll is a layout. Yep-a layout. I used some Copics to color the sweet strawberries.I colored two sets. Cut one set out and popped them on top of the other. And I just love the sentiment-You're So Sweet- that Melyssa put with them. I cut them out with a Nestabilities Labels Two die cut using my Cuttlebug. I pulled out this My Mind's Eye-quite contrary-Mary Mary Sweetie Pie-Strawberry cardstock to use as the bg for my layout. I also had this journaling card, title card and alphabet that I used from the same line. I finished off my layout with Pearls and Rhinestones from Recollections that I picked up at Michaels. Then of course I had to do something in the card family. I made four little lunchbox cards. I cut the little cards from Stretch Your Imagination. I sized them on my Gypsy Girl. I made them 4.50 inches by 3 inches each. When folded in half, they make a 2 1/4 inch X 3 inch little card. Just perfect for a lunchbox note. The bg designer paper behind the awesome pencil w/apple digi is from sassafras-Bungle Jungle stack. Great stack for kiddie stuff! The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink stamp set-Handwritten Notes.
Okay, you know what you have to do-get to creating and link so we can come and admire your creation! Don't forget to check out my DT Sisters creations. There is some awesomeness out there that you sure don't want to miss. Also, visit Melyssa at Whimsie Doodles and check out her fantastic digis. She is just so talented!!
Can't wait to see what ya'll create! Hope ya like my layout and little lunchbox cards!!!!! :)

Bitten By The Bug 2-Pie Challenge

Pie Pie Pie!!! Oh how I love to eat Pie!!! And what a fun Pie challenge Bitten By The Bug 2 is having using the pie cut from the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge. And if you don't have this cart use a pie from another one. I cut my pie three times. Once in the gingham for the pie plate and twice in the tan/brown for the
crust. My Momma always makes the best and prettiest browned crusted pies. Now I just love her blackberry cobbler but since this is a pie challenge I decided to make a blackberry pie. It won't be as good as Mom's but I think it will still be quite tasty. I cut the blackberries and the words from the Preserves cartridge. The berries and 'blackberry' are on page 54 and 'pie' is on page 46. The pie itself is on page 63 in the PDDU booklet. The bg papers are some that I found when digging through my stash. I haven't a clue where they came from or who put them out. I've had them a while. Ya'll have plenty of time to  mix up a pie for this challenge. The next one doesn't start until Monday. Hope ya'll like my card!!!! :)

Birthday Sundaes Challenge #21

This weeks challenge at Birthday Sundaes is to create a birthday card, no extra prompts, just don't forget to include birthday wording on the front of your card. These are always fun challenges. You can just do your hearts desire. I decided to go with the Robotz cartridge for my card. I cut the robotz on page 30 and 51 and their layers. The textured cardstock that I used for some of my robotz layers is from DCWV-The Guy Stack. The solid colors except for the gray and white is from K and company-Confetti stack. I went with googly eyes instead of the ones that would have cut. The bg pattern designer papers are from My Minds Eye-Lil Robots. I masked a wooden stamp and stamped my sentiment in parts like you would think a robot would say it. I cut them down and used the 2 bg dp and backed each piece. I popped everything up and did a little doodling. Ya'll have a little time to get something created and enter the challenge since the next one won't start until Sunday. Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

Paper Playtime Challenge #52-"Cool Off With Water"

This week is our Challenge Teams turn to create over at Paper Playtime. The theme is 'Cool off with Water'. Make any type of paper project be it a card, layout, altered item, a craft project, just anything with any type of way to cool off with water. What a fun time I had making my layout. Yeah, I said layout!!! Not a card this time. I kept thinking about those water things we had when I was growing up that we played under in the yard. It was a pipe like thing that you attached a water hose up to at the bottom and the water sprinkled out of the top. We use to have the best times!! I just had to figure out how to make one that looked enough like it so ya'll could get the idea of what I'm about. I used the Pack Your Bags cartridge and cut the water spout from the whale on page 56. I cut the water drops from Pooh and Friends, the waterhose is from Paper Dolls for Everyday, the grasshopper is from Stretch Your Imagination and the worms are also from Pooh and Friends. The grass I cut using my Martha Stewart shredder scissors. The bg designer paper is from ki Memories-Little Guy paper pack. I just love the big spots on it. I used Glossy Accents all over the water and drops to give them a shine. Ya'll only have until noon, EST, Saturday August 13th to enter this challenge because we are having a special digi challenge on the 15th. So get to creating and enter and you just might be the lucky winner of an awesome stamp set from our sponsor this week. My Pink Stamper has donated Music Speaks stamp set as our prize for this challenge. How exciting is that?! So get busy!! Hope ya'll like my layout!!! :)

Paper Cutz Challenge #103

"School Days-1, 2, 3" is the challenge theme over at Paper Cutz Challenge this week. You are to make a card, layout or craft project for Back to School using 1 ribbon, 2 buttons and 3 colors. I started to make a school bus until I found this owl paper in my stash. It is from Hobby Lobby's open stock. I just had to use it, so I started hunting owls to. I went with this one from the Create-A-Critter cartridge. You can find it on page 25 of the booklet. I also cut 'Hoot' from the phrase layer on the same page. I cut the 't' off so I would have 'Hoo'. I cut the flower which is the shift phrase layer to put on the last 'o'. It doesn't cut the circle out of the center of that 'o'. On the inside I finished my sentiment by handwriting 'Is Going To School?'. Our next to the youngest Grandson is starting kindergarden this year and I think this will be a perfect card for him. Even with the flower on it. This challenge goes until midnight EST, Thursday, August 11th, so ya'll have plenty of time to create something and join in on the fun! Hope ya like my card!!!! :)

I layered and popped up my owl.

I also popped up the 'Hoo'.

Cricut Cardz Challenge #86

I'm doing a lot better this week getting my card entered in the Cricut Cardz challenge. The theme is 'Tuitti Fruitti'! What a neat theme!!! You are to make a card using fruit, any cartridges and colors or occasion you'd like. I cranked up my Gypsy Girl and started checking out fruit. I found this neat stack of fruits on the Nate's ABCs cartridge. While I was deciding on how to do my card I got to singing, Fruit Salad Yummy Yummy. Now, if you know about the Wiggles, you know that they use to sing this on their show. We also have several Wiggles DVD's that the Grands use to watch and it's on one of those. I use to know all the words but now I can only remember Fruit Salad Yummy Yummy. LOL So of course I had to go with that as my sentiment. I printed it on the computer at 24 points using Curlz MT font. I punched it out with a 1 3/4 inch circle punch. The bg designer paper is from K and Company-Berry Sweet. I used some Aleene's Paper Glaze on the cherries, the pear seeds and on the pineapple and did a little bit of doodling. Ya'll have until midnight EST, Tuesday, August 9th to enter this challenge. Hope ya like my card!!! :)
