Birthday Sundaes #19

This week over at  Birthday Sundaes the challenge is to use this inspiration photo:

http://www.marthastewartweddings.com/photogallery/seaside-sweets?lpgStart=1&currentslide=9&currentChapter=1
And don't forget to use a birthday greeting on the front of your card.
I'm just hoping my card fits what is expected here. I used the Birthday Bash cartridge. The shark from page 65 and the cupcake from page 58. I ran the icing through my Cuttlebug using the D'vine Swirl embossing folder. I cut the cherry and leaves off of the cupcake base as I did not want to use that part. The bg designer paper is from American Crafts-Heat Wave. The sentiments are from My Pink Stamper Family and Friends and the More Punny-licious stamp sets. I use some black half pearls for the eyes on my shark and did some doodling on him. Also used popup squares for diminsion. You have until this Saturday to create a birthday card using the photo as inspiration. Hope ya'll like my card!!!! :)
Sorry about the pictures!! I don't know what happened! The others I took this evening don't look like this! :(

My Sheri Crafts #65

The challenge right now over at My Sheri Crafts is Party Decor. I made an invitation and a cupcake holder. I know an invitation isn't a decor, but ya gotta have the invite before the party!! I cut the 'You're Invited' and inside info from the Sweethearts cartridge. The cupcake holder is cut from the Sweet Treats cartridge. The crown that cut from the side pieces I used on the invite to tie them together. I added some Gold Stickles to the base of the crowns and some pink half pearls to the tips. Since Sheri is giving 2 weeks to do the challenges right now, you have until Aug. 6th to enter. So craft up some party stuff and enter!! Who knows, you just might be the next 'Guest Designer'!! Hope ya'll like my invite and cupcake holder!!! :)

Paper Cutz #101 and Bitten By The Bug 2

I decided to combine Paper Cutz Challenge which is anything goes, with Bitten By The Bug 2 Challenge which is to use the ice cream cone from the Sweet Treats cartridge. Now it didn't say which ice cream cone, so I did the same one that Maria did since she is the one that picked the challenge there this week. And it is also their end of the month blog hop. I've already hopped and their is some great inspiration to enjoy!! It seems like a lot of people buy that neopolitan(bet I didn't spell that right!) ice cream since it has chocolate, strawberry and vanilla in it. I made my cone, chocolate, strawberry and vanilla with chocolate chunks!! I used paper glaze on the chocolate, the drip and the chocolate chunks. Ran the cone through my Cuttlebug using the Tiny Mosaic embossing folder. The bg designer paper is from atd-momenta-Summer Fun Paper Pad and the sentiment is from My Pink Stamper Everyday Occasions stamp set. The buttons I got at Hobby Lobby after Valentines on clearance. You have until midnight EST, Thursday, July 28th to link up a anything goes project for Paper Cutz and Bitten By The Bug 2 won't post a new challenge until next Monday, so plenty of time to join in both challenges!! Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

Paper Playtime Digi Monday-Challenge #51

I just love Digi Mondays over at Paper Playtime!! I love coloring the digi's and then creating something from them. Usually cards. But hey, I create!! LOL I used this great little digi from Di's Digi Downloads called Hello Ladybug. Our theme this month is Summer and I think this one represents summer pretty well. When I was little, I use to love getting out in the yard, checking out the bugs and butterflies. Didn't like the bees though. The pattern paper is from doodlebug design inc.-little lady. I used Copics to color my digi, and then rounded the corners and did a stack of different papers to mount it on. The pearls down the side and on the inside are Recollections from Michaels. I only got one pack of them. Wished I had gotten more now!
I decided while I was in the coloring mode that I would color the other 2 Di's Digi's and make cards from those also. This next card's digi is called Teds-99. I think she is just sweet. So ready for the beach or pool with her floatie!! I cut some shells from Life is a Beach. The pattern paper is from Hobby Lobby's open stock. Thought it would be cute for this card. The last digi is called What-a-catch. Now this little guy is just adorable catching his pants instead of the fish! Looks like that little fish is having a good laugh!! I fussy cut him out after I colored him. Cut 3 different size squares, embossed them with Cuttlebug Folder-Houndstooth and then mounted him on top. The embellies I pulled out of my stash. They are from Paperbliss. Now it is your turn to create!! Ya'll have until noon EST, Saturday August 6th to link up your project. While you are linking up, take time to check out the awesomeness that my DT Sisters have created for inspiration! And also check out the prizes for this challenge. Can't wait to see what ya'll create! Hope ya like all three of my cards!!! :)

Cricut Cardz Challenge #84

I am just so pleased with myself! I don't think I've ever had my card made for Cricut Cardz this quickly!! The day after the challenge. Wow! New record for me!! LOL Helps that my work schedule is different this week and I'm off today. Normally I would be at work right now. The challenge this week is to make a card using a monogram, any colors and any cartridge. I decided to use the Songbird cartridge. I love how the 'S' is shaped. I also cut the shape that I mounted it on from Songbird. The designer paper is from DCWV-the Rustic Stack. The 'Thank You' is a wooden stamp. I stamped it, cut the paper down and then cut a piece from the dp to go behind it. I inked everything with Tim Holtz Wild Honey Distress Ink. This challenge goes through midnight EST, Tuesday July 26th. So plenty of time to create a card and join in on the fun. Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)
Theresa, pick yourself up off the floor and tell me what you think!! HaHaHaHa :)

Pause/Dream/Enjoy-Toilet Paper Roll Mini Album Challenge

My dear, sweet, wonderful and awesome friend Janis (did I say all the right things Janis?) over at Pause Dream Enjoy is having a Toilet Paper Roll Mini Album challenge. You will need 4 empty cardboard rolls from the same package so they will be the same size. Flatten them. I used my Cuttlebug. Flatten between a B and C plate. Then cut paper to cover the rolls. Punched 2 holes in one end for the rings and covered some tags to go inside. Really really easy. And this is my first time making one!!! LOL I had fun! Our youngest Grand is going to pre-school this year. He didn't want to at first but went and met his teacher (the same one his brother and 2 sisters had), looked around and is now excited about going!! I decided to make my mini album for him. DD can use it to put pictures of his first days and journal his thoughts about 'school'. All of the cardstocks and embellies I used are from DCWV-Safari Kids collection. The twine is from Papertrey Ink. The tags are Paper Reflections that I got at Hobby Lobby for 1/2 off. I cut them down to fit inside and then covered them to match the album. I didn't add any ribbon, etc to the rings since it is for a little guy and I sure didn't want it to look even a little bit girly. He is 'all' boy!!! LOL This challenge is going through noon, EST on Saturday July 23rd. I think you have enough time if ya want to join in on the fun. Hope ya'll like my first Toilet Paper Roll Mini Album!!! :)
Oh, and this post is picture heavy!!

Bitten By The Bug 2-Penguin

This week at Bitten By The Bug 2 the challenge is to use the penguin with the umbrella from Jolly Holidays. It doesn't have to be winter or Christmas related, just keep it 'cool'!!  I cut my penguin from JH's cart, the raindrops from 3 Birds on Parade and Pooh and Friends and the phrase is from April Showers. I used Aleene's Paper Glaze on the raindrops and the top layer of the umbrella. It got thick on the umbrella. I had cleaned out the tip really good and it was free flowing big time. It dried kinda cloudy, but I think I like it that way. It even has a couple of bubbles in it, but that just looks like rain. It's so thick that it made it feel like plastic on the top side!! I popped up the penguin/umbrella and then popped up the top layer of the umbrella. Some of the raindrops are popped up with 2 pop dots to make them as high as the umbrella top and some are on only one. I glued the sentiment straight to the card and then did some doodling. I used the paper glaze on the raindrops on the sentiment, too. The designer paper is from My Mind's Eye-quite contrary-Colorful Umbrellas. All the pieces I used for my cuts are from my scrap bin. Ya'll have plenty of time to join in on the fun since this challenge just started Monday. Hope ya'll like my card!!!! :)

Birthday Sundaes Blog Hop

Ahhhhh, Birthday Sundaes is having their first Blog Hop on July 31st!!! They will be announcing the new DT at that time. Their will be blog candy involved in this hop, too!!! Mark your calendars. I know I'll be hopping along to see the great creations!! :)

Birthday Sundaes #18

This week at Birthday Sundaes it is anything goes. You would think it would be the easiest challenge of all, and normally it is, except for this week. I just went totally blank on this one. I knew I wanted to use my E2 and an Imagine Art cartridge, but couldn't come up with something good. After playing around on the Yummy cart, I came up with this card. I really like the 'Hey Sugar' with the candy. The striped paper I cut the candy from is from Cosmo Cricket DeLovely Mini Deck. After the fact, I decided to cut a piece to go on the inside and when I did, I realized that I had turned the paper the other direction! told myself that I wasn't gonna recut. I covered both pieces of candy in glossy accents to give them the wrapper shine and tied some Lemondrop twine from The Twinery on the ends. I then popped it all up. I did some doodling on the letters. Doesn't show up so well on the yellow ones. My stamped sentiment is from a wooden stamp. I used a Martha Stewart punch on the piece that I stamped on. Sorry, I don't know the name of it. You have until Saturday to enter this great challenge. Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

Paper Cutz Challenge #100

WOW!!! It's the 100th challenge over at Paper Cutz! For this 100th challenge it is 'the skies the limit'. Make a card, layout, or any project featuring anything that you might find in the sky using any cartridge and colors. Clouds, sun, rainbow, birds...you get the picture. I chose to use butterflies. I used Kate's ABC's cartridge. I cut the butterflies on pg. 55 and the toadstool and butterfly on pg. 57. I used Crystal Stickles on the holes on the toadstool caps and on the butterflies wings. The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper Buggy Punnies stamp set. The designer paper is from My Little Shoebox-Happy Valley. I did some doodling and dotted the eyes on my butterflies. This 100th challenge runs through midnight EST, Thursday July 21st so you have a little more than a day to get something made and join in on the fun!! Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

No-no desk top yet!

I guess where there is a will, there is a way. I hunted this house top to bottom and side to side looking for the software that came with my digi camera so I could download it on this here laptop. It's not to be found. So I thought, okay, just plug in the camera and see what it does. It downloaded my pictures!!! So I am back in business with my challenges!!! I am just so excited about this! I still want my desk top back to running but until DD can get over here and see about it, I can at least join in on the challenges that I always do. I worked on a couple of more cards today, but have yet to finish them. I have to tell ya'll that sometimes my old brain just goes out to visit without me. I had put glossy accents on some stuff that I had cut and while I was waiting on it to dry, I was finishing up the other card. Yeah, you guessed it right, I put the other card on top of it and got glossy accents on the inside of my card!!! I almost cried! I brain stormed and figured out a way that I could save my card. And now I'm waiting for stickles to dry on parts of it. The glossy accent piece for the other card will have to be recut, but since I haven't attached it to a card yet, that's no problem. So, lesson for today: Move anything that you are drying waaaaaaaaay out of the way of things you are working on!! Have an awesome evening everyone!! I think I'll go eat me a tomato sandwich! :)

Cricut Cardz Challenge #83

Oh what a fun challenge Mary has over at Cricut Cardz this week. You are to make a birthday card for a grandparent using any cartridge and any colors. I used Holiday Cakes cartridge. I cut the car from pg. 32 and then the license plate from pg. 42 to stamp my sentiment on. I masked a wooden stamp so I could stamp each word on a plate. On the inside I just hand wrote on it. I used some little gold brads in the holes that cut in the plates. I popped the plates and the car up and then did some doodling on them all. The pattern paper is open stock from Hobby Lobby. You have until midnight EST, Tuesday, July 19th to link a card so you still have time to join in on the fun!! Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

Bitten By The Bug 2-Mittens

Penny over at Bitten By The Bug 2 has chosen the mittens from the Joys of the Season cartridge for this weeks challenge. I really had fun making this card. The dp I cut the mittens from is Echo Park and the bg paper is me and my Big ideas-Christmas Carol paper pad. The sentiment is a stamp I have in my stash and the snowflake bling on the mittens are from Hobby Lobby and the one on the inside is from Michaels. For the sentiment I stamped, trimed and rounded the corners. Cut the layers under it a bit bigger and rounded the corners and then popped it up. Also popped up the mittens. I'm pleased with how this one turned out. Hubby liked it, too! I don't know if this challenge runs for 2 weeks or not since it doesn't say. I do know they will issue a new challenge tomorrow. So why don't ya come and join in on the fun!!  Hope ya'll like my card!!!! :)

Hello Bloggie Friends!!

Sorry I haven't posted anything since Tuesday. My desk top computer is having big time issues. I am having to use my laptop and it is a bit dated. It's a great laptop but it doesn't have any of my programs that I use on it and none of my photos, etc. I'm kinda lost here without my desk top. I'm really bummed, too. Our DD is going to come over and see what she can do with it. She's really great with computers!! I'm in high hopes that she can get over sometime this weekend. I've worked on a couple of cards for challenges that I want to enter. That way when she gets it back up and running I'll be ready to post something. So please don't desert me here! I'll be back!! Hopefully soon!!
Next week will be a really busy one for me at work. The computer room person is on vacation, so I get to do her job. I use to have that job years ago and I just love it. She left Thursday for vacation and I was really busy yesterday and today. I really enjoy my job as an assistant manager, but I 'loved' working in the computer room.
Ya know, I told ya'll about our outside furbaby passing away. Well, Hubby was really down in the dumps about it all. DD and SIL asked me if it was alright to get him another dog. I told them it should be fine. So, for Father's Day-well the weekend after-they presented him with the most adorable and cutest bassett hound. They got him from an awesome breeder from Mississippi. Hubby named him T-bone. He is just the perfect coloring, too!! He is right at 10 weeks old. I'll post some pictures of him and our other
3 furbabies when my desk top is back to running. He was suppose to be an outside dog. He is yet to be there! He sleeps on the couch every night!! Hubby takes him everywhere with him. He won't go to Wal-mart any more since he can't take him in with him. He took him into the bank a couple of weeks ago. Everyone in Hobby Lobby loves him! Everyone knows him at my work. He hasn't met a stranger yet!! Okay, I'll hush up now. Have an awesome weekend everyone!! I hope to be back to posting really really soon!  Love ya'll!!! :)

Birthday Sundaes #17

I'm not really sure I like the card I made this week for Birthday Sundaes. The challenge is to create a birthday card using the colors orange, green and white.  The DT had some great inspiration. I just wasn't sure what to do for this one. It was the colors that got to me!!! I picked up Holiday Cakes cartridge at Hobby Lobby this past Saturday on clearance. No, I don't have a cake machine and never will, but I really wanted this cart. I just had to use something from it to make my card. I flipped through the booklet several times trying to decide what to use. I finally settled for the flower on page 34. The sentiment is from Fiskars-Make a Wish Quotes stamp set. The inside sentiment is a wooden stamp. The punch I used for the white piece is scallop scallop. After I popped the sentiment piece on, I felt it was missing something. To much space on each side that just didn't look right. Buttons worked to fill up these spots. I used some 'memory thread' in the buttons. I think I'm gonna like this stuff. The bg papers except for the white are from Sassafras-Bungle Jungle. Ya'll have until Saturday to link up a card. Don't forget to include birthday wording on the front of your card. Hope ya'll like mine!!! :)

Paper Cutz Challenge #99

Mary is having a 'yummy' challenge over at Paper Cutz this week. You are to make a card, layout or craft project using a Cricut cut, hand stamped or digital stamped image of an ice cream cone, popsicle, ice cream sundae or milk shake. Using any colors or theme. How yummy is that?! I decided to go with Smiley Cards. It was a free Gypsy download. I don't use it near enough. The cuts on it are really really cute. I used the popsicle with all the layers except the eyes. I used some google eyes instead. I also cut some extra drips. I used glossy accents on the drips. And used a paint brush to put it one the popsicle itself so it would look more matte instead of so glossy. The bg papers are American Crafts-Heat Wave. The stripe across the middle is the same as the piece behind the ice cream piece. I haven't put a sentiment on yet. I will when I decide what I am going to use it for. Now you have until midnight EST, Thursday, July 14th to enter this 'yummy' challenge. Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

Bitten By The Bug 2-Starfish

The July 4th challenge over at Bitten By The Bug 2 goes for 2 weeks. Guess it's a good thing huh?! Since I'm just now getting my project posted! The challenge is to make a project using the starfish from the Life is a Beach cartridge. And if you don't have that cart, use a starfish from another cart. I decided that I wanted to make a layout this time. I flipped through the booklet to see what else I could use. I decided on the coral-pg. 68, fish-pg. 53, seaweed-pg. 69, birds-pg. 79 and the starfish are on pg. 65. Ya'll still have plenty of time to enter this challenge. Hope ya'll like my layout!!! :)

Closeup of the birds. See them up there among the clouds?!

Closeup of the sea life.

Cricut Cardz Challenge #82

I really wasn't pushing it to the limit this week to get my card made for Cricut Cardz, just pushing it to get it posted. I made my card Saturday evening, but then it started storming. Not good picture taking weather. Sunday afternoon storms came again. Still not good. I don't even get on the computer when it's storming! Also, I had to go into work for a couple of hours after church. Then I crafted most of today. Got a lot done this weekend and today. Will be posting off and on Tuesday. The challenge for CC is to make a card with summer apparel or an accessory, using any cartridge and colors. I used Kate's ABC's to cut this cute little hat. Required apparel for 'Ladies' going out in the sun. I wear a big floppy hat when I go out in the garden. Nothing this fancy!! But it's really cute. The flowers are also from Kate's ABC's. The bg papers are from Cosmo Cricket-Garden Variety. I wasn't going to put a sentiment on it until I decided what to use it for. I was rummaging through one of my stamp drawers and saw this one and thought it would be perfect for this card. Hope ya'll like my card!!!!

Paper Playtime Challenge #50

Happy second Monday of July to everyone! And such a great one it is!! It is time for a new challenge over at Paper Playtime Yeah!! The theme is 'summer'. Make a paper project of any kind. And while you are over there, don't forget to check out the awesomeness that my DT Sisters have created to inspire ya. You won't be sorry that you looked!! Now on to my project. At a great surprise, I made card. I know, ya'll just can't believe it!! LOL I'm still learning all the buttons and whistles on my Expression 2 so I went simple with this one. I picked up a few Imagine Art Cartridges since I can use those on the E2. One of those is the Yummy cart. I cut all the layers for the ice cream cone. Embossed the cone with Tiny Mosaic and the scoops with D'vine Swirls Cuttlebug embossing folders. Then I popped it up on my card. I can remember when I was growing up being so excited to get to visit Baskin Robbins and having the rare luck of getting 3 scoops of ice cream!!! An awesome summer treat! Now I never got any green ice cream but I did pink. Bubblegum! Yummy!! Well, it was back then. I've outgrown that flavor for sure but not chocolate!! I let the bg cardstock do most of the work for my card. It is from imaginisce-Summer Cool on the pink side and Flipsicle Twist on the ice cream side. I even have a good piece left over that has flipflops on it from the Flipsicle Twist side! The outside and inside sentiments are from My Pink Stamper Simply Sweet Occasions stamp set. The little heart buttons are from my stash. Now it is your turn! Get to creating and go link your project up so we can come and admire it!! Hope ya'll like my card! :)

Paper Cutz Challenge #98

This week at Paper Cutz they are having a Star Spangled Banner Blog Hop! And on top of that, Paper Cutz site is giving away the Cricut Summer Collection Luau cartridge!! Now I don't have this one and would so love to win it! You have up to two chances to win. Leave your name and email addy in the comment section for one chance and join in on the challenge for a second chance. The challenge goes until midnight EST Thursday, July 7th so their is still time to enter. I'm going for the 2 chances. The challenge is to make a banner suitable for hanging for the Fourth of July with lots of bling and using any colors you'd like. Now I almost didn't do this challenge. I have no need for a banner because we don't have gathering very often. Then I decided to make a card. I can display it if I want. And I totally forgot to bling it up! I decided not to go back and redo anything on my card. I don't think it would look right with bling all over it. Hope it is okay!! I went with the Independance Day cartridge for the banner flags and the 1776. I didn't use my Gypsy Girl for this card. I was updating her and wanted to get it made, so I just cut everything at 2 1/2 inches and went with that. I cut the 1776 in both the red and blue, off centered them and glued them together alternating the top color. The two designer papers are from K and Company-Primary Designer Paper Pad. The twine I used for the banner is from Papertrey Ink. Hop over and take a look at what the DT did with this challenge and enter for a chance to win. Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

Birthday Sundaes Challenge #16

I just love the anything goes Birthday Card weeks over at Birthday Sundaes, 'cus you can make any type of Birthday card that you want. I picked up this designer paper from Sandy Lion-Toy Story Silhouettes when I finally made it to JoAnns last week. I knew when I saw it that I would use it to make our youngest Grandson's birthday card. He loves Woody. His Birthday isn't until September but you can never be to ahead of yourself with these things. Something always seems to come up and I have to scramble to get a card made. I'm now ready for his!! I cut the 'Howdy', Woody and the star from the Toy Story cartridge. I didn't cut all of the layers for the star. I wanted to use it for the Birthday wording that you have to have on the front of your card for the challenge. The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper Everyday Occasions stamp set. It fit perfectly on the star. I did some doodling around the letters and star. Popped up the star and Woody. They post a new challenge every Sunday so ya have until Saturday to create and enter. Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

Cricut Cardz Challenge #81

I'm not running right up until the last minute this week with my card for the Cricut Cardz challenge. The theme is cook-out or picnic. The DT did an awesome job of inspiring, but I really had a tough time with this one. I really don't know why! All I could think of was hot dogs. Do ya'll know how many hot dogs and how much hamburger meat a grocery store sells for the 4th? Well, I really don't have a total for ya'll, but I can tell ya, it's a whole whole whole lot!!!!! We sold enough packs of Oscar Mayer Hot Dogs to feed the whole county!! Helped that they were 98 cents a pack. So, I decided to go with the hot dog for my card. I used Simply Charmed cartridge. I didn't cut the piece that would have made a face on it. The sentiment 'Hot Dog' is from Paper Pups cartridge. The designer paper is from Momenta-atd-Summer Fun paper pad.  You have until midnight, EST, Tuesday, July 5th to enter this challenge. So hop over and join in. Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

My Sheri Crafts #63

Over at My Sheri Crafts for challenge #63, you are to make a project using the theme Independence Day or Canada Day. I used the Old West cartridge to make my flag. I wanted my card to have an old fashion feel to it to match the designer cardstock that I used from DCWV-The Guy Stack. 'Celebrate' is a stamp from Fiskars-Make a Wish Quotes set that I picked up at JoAnns. I stamped it, cut it down and then cut a piece of the same red and blue that I used in the flag and made layers. Then I popped up the flag and sentiment piece. Sheri has changed her challenges for the summer. Starting with this one, they will now be bi-weekly, so ya'll have plenty of time before she posts a new challenge on July 9th. So hop over and join in on the fun. Who knows, you just might get chosen to be a 'Guest Designer'!! Hope ya'll like my card!!!!! :)
