BBTB2-Deck the Halls

This week they are Decking the Halls over at Bitten by the Bug 2 Jeri set the challenge and she chose the Winter Frolic cartridge. She said to combine the phrase Deck the Halls (pg. 64) with an ornament from either pages 64 or 65. Now if you don't have this cart, feel free to use another font from another cart to make the phrase and combine it with an ornament from any cart. I decided to use the ornaments from both page 64 and 65. I coated them in Glossy Accents except for the oval and star on the one. I put Diamond Stickles on the little star. I cut the shadow to the phrase so it would stand out from the bg. Used some Diamond Stickles on the star parts and Glossy Accents on the d and c. The bg designer paper is from K and Company-BW Evergreen-Botanical Designer Paper Pad. The Deck the Halls layers were cut from K and Company-Secret Santa-Designer Paper Pad. The star on the inside is the star from the ornament, enlarged on my Gypsy and coated in Glossy Accents. I did something a little different on the inside. I used a smaller piece of paper for the sentiment area. There is a perfectly good reason for that. I glued the star down and then realized that I had forgot to put a piece down for the sentiment!! A slap on the forhead and a big DUH Sharon and then I came up with this idea. I think it works just fine! A little different! LOL Now hop over and join in on the fun! They post a new challenge every Monday so you have plenty of time to create! Hope ya'll like my card mistake and all!!! :)

My Sheri Crafts Challenge #33

Hello! That's the theme this week at My Sheri Crafts for challenge #33!! You can make any type of project with this theme. I made a card. Surprised you there didn't I!! LOL I used a prefolded card that is 4 3/4x6 1/2. It just happened to be the perfect green that I wanted. All the cardstock I used is from one sheet of stock from MS Playful Blue and Green Paper Pad. The check is one side and the solid is the other side. I cut the 'hello' from the Wild Card cartridge. Then I used a MS Butterfly punch and punched out lots of Butterflies. On the front I stacked them 3 deep and on the inside only 2 deep. I wanted them to have a little deminsion and there was no way I could use foam tape or pop dots on these!!  I used some white half pearls down the middle of each one. Real easy and really simple to make. Hop over and join in on the fun! Sheri posts a new challenge every Saturday! Hope ya'll like my simple little Hello card!!! :)

Jitterbuggin-Gifts Galore

Sherri has the cutest sketch that you can use or not for this weeks challenge over at Jitterbuggin The theme is Gifts Galore!! Love it! You are to make your card with a gift theme, add some bling, add a bow and don't forget to use your Cricut! This is just like you are wrapping a real present!!! I have this adorable cardstock from American Crafts-merrymint Candy Shoppe that I thought would make the perfect wrapping paper! I used My Little Shoebox-Holly Jolly-Douglas Fir for the ribbon on my package. The bow I cut from Once Upon A Princess cartridge. I cut the base ribbon in red and the layers in this print that I can't remember where it is from! I used Christmas Red Stickles on the exposed base of the bow. I used red half pearls in two different sizes in the top right and bottom left corners on the outside and inside. The package tag is two squares that I cut and stamped the top with this To:/From: stamp that is in a set that I got at Walmart last year. Now hop over and join in on the fun! You have until Wednesday, December 2 at 11:59 to enter!! Hope ya'll like my card!! :)

You have until Sunday, December 5th at midnight EST to link your creation. Now on to my card. I used the Snowman from the Doodlecharms cartridge. I cut the base in brown so I could have his arms and then the top layer is cut from Eskimo Kisses-Powdered Sugar cardstock. I cut 2 so I could pop the top one up. I didn't cut the face features so I could use a Peachy Keen stamp. I used one from the Snow Cutie Face Assortment set. I cut the scarf from the Everyday Paper Dolls cart and the Santa Hat is from 3 Birds on Parade cart. My bg cardstock is from My Little Shoebox-Holly Jolly-Mistletoe. The stripes are on one side and the snowmen are on the other. The sentiment on the inside are from a stamp. Oh and by the way, my song is Frosty the Snowman. Now it's your turn to create something and while you are there linking your project, check out what the other Queens have created!  Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

This week over at Cricut Cardz for challenge #52 we are to make a Christmas themed card with 'Words Only'!!! No images, just words. Use words from any Cricut cartridge and any colors. Also over at Crafty Creations for challenge #95 the theme is to make a Christmas card or project. They both post new challenges on Wednesdays. For my card base I used Pure Poppy from Papertrey Ink. The bg cardstock is from October Afternoon-Very Merry-Trim the Tree, the back of this sheet. The striped cardstock is from My Little Shoebox-Holly Jolly-Mistletoe, the back of this sheet. I cut 'merry christmas' from Simply Charmed cartridge two times. I used foam tape to pop of the top layer. I used the striped on the inside to tie it to the front but no image this time. Now hop over to these blogs and join in on the fun! Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

Santa Slackers Challenge #12

Up to #12 in the Santa Slackers challenge over at Joy's Purtty Paperz Joy didn't put up a sketch this week so I just went by her photo and made my card. My card base and wreath base is New Leaf  and the light color on the wreath is Spring Moss from Papertrey Ink. The pattern cardstock is from me and my Big ideas-Christmas Carol. The wreath I cut from Joys of the Season cartridge. Used some Metal Stickers-Nailheads as berries. The ribbon is some that I had in my stash. Hop over and take a look at Joy's card and play along. Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

Bitten by the Bug 2

This week over at Bitten by the Bug 2 you are to use the Santa dressed Hello Kitty from the Hello Kitty Greetings cartridge. Now if you don't have this cart, please use whatever you have that is similar. I don't have this cartridge although I would love to. I used the cat from the Sweethearts cart and the Santa hat from 3 Birds on Parade. The bg paper is from Teresa Collins. I used a MS black marker to color in the whiskers and a MS black pen to outline the eyes, mouth and arms. I used a tiny black half pearl for the nose. The sentiment is a stamp. Hop on over and join in on the fun! They post a new challenge every Monday! Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

My Sheri Crafts-#32-Harvest/Thanksgiving

This week for challenge #32 over at My Sheri Crafts the theme is to make either a Thanksgiving or Harvest card. I used the Thanksgiving cartridge for my cuts. I cut the corn for the front and on the inside I used the feathers. I've been wanting to use those feathers. The bg paper is from The Paperloft-Autumn Splendor-Scarecrow and the corn and feathers are from K and Company-Fall Harvest. I used both the back and the front of the same sheet for these. I think it makes the corn look just like Indian corn. I pop dotted the middle ear. The sentiment is a stamp. Hope on over and join in on the fun. Sheri posts a new challenge every Saturday. Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

Throwback Thursday-Cricut-less

Emma over at Creative Time For Me is doing her Throwback Thursday's a little differently now. They will be running for 2 weeks instead of one, giving you more time to join in. The current one goes until Wed.,
December 1st at 6pm PST. Emma says we can not use our Cricut or Gypsy!!! But feel free to use any punches, i-rock, etc. Oh yes, it needs to have some kind of  'Thank You' on it! I used DCWV-Ciao Bella-Hello Beautiful Stack on my card. The front is part of the bottom of the sheet and the inside is part of the top of it. The sentiment piece is from a page that has different cuts with sentiments on them. I fussy cut it out. I used a 1-inch strip on the inside from the bottom of the sheet so it would tie more in with the front. Now, hop on over and join in on the fun! Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

More Awards!

I am just so honored to receive these awards!! Gloria at Girlia Cards was so kind to honor me with 3 awards. One of them is listed below. It is the Stylish Blog Award. These 2 have different requirements than the Stylish one. First of all I want to thank Gloria so very very much for these awards! I am truly honored! Now I am to tell 3 things that make me different and then pass on to 5 other bloggers.
1. We have 9 Grandchildren. They are not spoiled. I know, you are saying, 'Yeah Right!'. But really they aren't. They are just very well loved!
2. We do not put up a Christmas Tree any more. We have our Christmas at our DD's so I don't bother to have to try to keep the dogs out of the tree and packages.
3. My craft room is the cleanest room in our home. I can't create with it all cluttered. I clean up and put away after each project, even if I'm about the start another one.
I am passing these on to:

Paper Playtime

Here it is Monday and Thursday is Thanksgiving! Yummy!!! Can't wait!!! This is always a crazy and busy week at work. I'm just Thankful that grocery stores don't have a Black Friday sale!!!!! This week at Paper Playtime the theme for challenge #26 is 'Thank You'. Our sponsor this week is Digital Delights by Louby Loo Visit and see all the great digi stamps they have to offer. Super cute new Christmas ones! Now, you can interpret our theme any way you would like. Also, make any type of paper project you want. Be is a layout, card, 3-D, home decor.....any thing that strikes your fancy. I make this 8 1/2x5 1/2 card. I used Lyrical Letters for the 'Thank You'. All the cardstock I used is from DCWV. The solid is the Mariposa Cardstock stack and the pattern one is from the Mariposa Stack. I didn't add anything to the inside of my card. I felt the cardstock was enough. The front piece is cut from the lower right hand corner of the 12x12 sheet and the inside is cut from the top left hand corner of the same sheet so I could have those flowers and leaves there. I've added a close-up shot of the corner. I just love these stacks. I haven't used a lot from them yet but I feel they are just perfect for a simple card. You don't have to add a lot to it. The cardstock speaks for itself. Hop on over to Paper Playtime and link up your 'Thank You' project so we can enjoy it with you! You have until midnight, EST, Sunday November 28th. Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

Cricut Cardz-Thanksgiving

With Thanksgiving coming up Thursday (can't wait!) Mary over at Cricut Cardz Challenge decided that a Thanksgiving card was in order for challenge #51. You can use any cartridges you'd like but you can only use the colors blue, brown, orange, yellow and white on your card. This was the challenging part for me! I decided to turn to the wonderful Autumn Splendor stack. I used white as my card base. The blue with white lines as my bg and I cut the bottom piece from a sheet that has a lot of different designs on it. These two were on the top of the page. They were the colors I needed. I know the bg of the one with the little star looking things on it is a funky shade of yellow/brown, but I think it may work. I used my scallop scallop border punch on it. I cut 'Happy Thanksgiving' from the Wild Card cartridge. I cut it twice to give it just a little lift and did some doodling on it. I used the same pattern piece on the inside but put it at the top instead of the bottom. Hop on over and play along with the challenge! You have until midnight EST, Tuesday, 11/23 to link your card. Hope ya'll like mine!!! :)

M.A.G. #5

This week at M.A.G. Challenge you are to use the Forever Young cartridge and to use page 72. This page only. I decided to use the emblem cuts. I took a sheet of Spring Rain Papertreyink cardstock, cut it in half to make an A2 cardbase. Then I got out my Tim Holtz idea-ology Vintage Shabby Paper Stack and started flipping through it to pick out what I wanted to use as a bg and to do my cuts from. At this point I wasn't really sure what I was going to put in the cutout area of the emblem. I cut it all out and then started looking through my stamps. I just picked up this 'Peace on Earth' stamp at HL Friday as they were 1/2 off and I really like the swirls on it. Decided it would be just perfect for my center. Put it all together and used foam tape and popped it up. The center that cut out I used to stamp my inside sentiment on. I inked everything with Tim Holtz distress ink: faded jeans and tattered rose. Hop on over and join in this great fun! Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

Jitterbuggin-Give Thanks

WOW look at the sketch that Sherri over at Jitterbuggin has for us to follow this week. Isn't it cute?! This week the theme is Let's Give Thanks. All you have to do is follow the sketch, add something Cricut and emboss something. Easy!!! I used Indie Art cartridge for my butterflies. I used my Gypsy and laid out everything. I hid the cutouts on the wing part of the whole butterfly for the bases. Then I cut the regular cut in the cream so I would have the body part and the base color would show through. Then I cut the wings in my third color twice so I could glue one set down and have a set that I just glued the inner edge down and bent the wing up to give it dimension. The cutouts on the base wings I filled with glossy accents, added pearls to the tips of the antennas and then I used Diamond Stickles on the body. The card base is a one sided cardstock that I just love the blue color for this card. The back is white so it worked just fine for the inside of my card. The pattern paper is Cosmo Cricket-DeLovely Mini Deck. I used these embossing folders: Polka Dots on the blue strip, D'Vine Swirl on the cream one (then rubbed with ink) and Swiss Dots on the pink one. The sentiment is a My Pink Stamper stamp from the Simply Sweet Occasions set. Stamped it, cut out around it and put a pearl on each end. Hop on over and play along with the challenge! Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

Santa Slackers #12

Joy at Purtty Paperz has a cute little sketch to follow this week for the Santa Slackers challenge #12. When I saw it I knew just what I wanted to do with it! I used Lacey Labels for my snowflakes. There are 4 in this cut, but I hid 2 of them on my Gypsy. I stickled them with Crystal Stickles. No really sure you can tell that in the photo.  I used foam tape to pop them up. The sentiment is a stamp and I just realized I didn't put anything on the right side of the sentiment strip. DUH!!! I'll have to fix that before I send it out. The pattern paper is from Cosmo Cricket-Mitten Weather-Mini Deck. Just love those 6x6 sheets. Only trimmed a little off. Hop on over and join in on making your Christmas cards! Hope ya'll like mine!!! :)

BittenbytheBug2-Give Thanks

This week over at Bitten by the Bug 2 the challenge this week is to use 'Give Thanks' from the Thanksgiving Cartridge. And if you don't have it, you may use 'Thanks' from any cart. I just happen to have this one thanks to Scrapper 69 at Scrappers Anonymous enabling me for those feathers on it. And I haven't even cut and used those yet!! LOL I decided to do a layout for a photo that I know I'll take at Thanksgiving this year. I used Gooseberry Patch-Cornucopia Delight for the background for my layout. Can't beat a paper that has an awesome picture on it to build around and a wonderful border!! That way you don't have to do much!! The 'Give Thanks' and the piece for my photo is Gooseberry Patch-Orange Gingham. Love it when you can get paper made to go with with your bg piece!!! The piece for my photo is the cameo cut with the pilgram lady on it from the Thanksgiving cart. I just hid her so she wouldn't cut. Hop on over and join in the fun! Hope ya'll like my layout!!! :)

My Sheri Crafts-Challenge #31

Did you know that this past Sunday was Nationl American Teddy Bear Day? Well, I didn't until Sheri told us that it was. So over at My Sheri Crafts for challenge #31 the theme is Teddy Bears! You can make any type of project-card, layout, home decor, etc. I used the Teddy Bear from Christmas cartridge and my scalloped ovals are from Lacey Labels. The pattern cardstocks are from Anna Griffin. I used letter stamps and did the sentiment. I popped up the ovals and then the Teddy Bear. They post a new challenge every Saturday, so hop on over and join in with a Teddy Bear creation!! Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

M.A.G. Challenge #4

This week over at M.A.G. Challenge you are to use Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge and work with page 69 only!! This means no paper doll itself because it isn't on this page!!! You can use embellishments. Now I have to tell ya'll, these ladies know how to stump you and make you really think! I had so much fun with this challenge!!! I changed my mind about the bg paper several times! Had a hard time getting my brad leaves to stick. I had clipped off the brad prongs and thought glue dots would work. Wrong! I tried several different things before discovering that Zip Dry Glue was perfect!  And I cut my foam tape is such thin strips I didn't think there was going to be any sticky on it!! But I really wanted my wheelbarrow popped up! I cut 2 each of the wheelbarrow, hoe and cap so I could cut and piece. Ran most of the wheelbarrow off the edge of the page on my Gypsy so I could get the wheel in black and not cut the whole thing again. I put together some stamp letters for the sentiment.  Hop on over and join in on the fun! Hope ya'll like my card!!!! :)

Jitterbuggin-Let's Talk Turkey!

Turkey is the theme this week at Jitterbuggin ! Just follow the sketch (which I love), add a Cricut turkey-there are a bunch.....or hand piece your own from basic shapes and add a button or 2 or 3..... You have until 11:59 EST, Wed. 11/17 to link your card. I used the turkey on the Animal Kingdom cartridge. I cut the basic turkey in white so I could use my Prismacolor Color Pencils and color the feathers. Then cut the layer. I did some hiding and cutting to get all the colors I wanted for the face features and legs. The sentiment is a stamp. The pattern paper is from Moxxie-Shades of Autumn-Frenzy in Fall. When I got it all together, it looked kinda naked so I punched some corners and added them. Hop on over to Jitterbuggin and join in on the fun! Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

Cricut Cardz and Crafty Creations-Christmas and Buttons

This week I have combined the challenges at Cricut Cardz and Crafty Creations Cricut Cardz challenge #50 is to make a Christmas card using the card feature from any cartridge and any colors you'd like. You have until midnight EST on Tues. 11/16 to link your card. Crafty Creations challenge #93 is to use buttons on your creation. Real buttons or even make your own! They post a new challenge every Wednesday. Now, I didn't make my own buttons, but I did have some really cute little ones that I used. I used the card feature from the Thanksgiving cartridge, the tree is from Winter Frolic and the snow hills are from Everyday Paper Dolls. The pattern paper is from October Afternoon-Very Merry. The sentiment is a stamp. And then all of those little buttons for ornaments!!! Hop on over to Cricut Cardz and Crafty Creations and join in on the fun! Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

Paper Playtime Challenge #25

'Tis Monday again! Where is all the time going to?! It seems to be just flying by! When I was growing up I always wanted things to hurry up, you know, like 'Wish Christmas would hurry up and get here!', and my Grandma always said not to rush it. That the older you got the faster time goes by. I thought, yeah right! Well, yeah, she was right! So here we are with another weekend gone by, which I'm okay with, I worked the whole thing and starting another week. Oh, and it's another week closer to Christmas!! Okay, enough of my loose lips. Let's get to why we are here. This weeks theme (where Sandra is our Reigning Queen), is "P.S. I LOVE YOU". Now you can interprete this any way you would like and make any type of paper project that you want to. You know, like use a technique you love, make a project about or for someone you love, use a product you love-just anyway you want to do it. When you have your awesome project created, just hop over to Paper Playtime and link it up so we can go and admire it!! This week Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps  is our sponsor. Check out Robyn's site! She has some wonderful digi stamps and some new ones for the Holidays! They are awesome!!! Now on to my card. I was really happy with my card until I got it on here. It just didn't photograph as well as I thought it had. You can't see the colors really well. I used my Prismacolor Colored Pencils and odorless mineral spirits. The bg is from Bazzill Basics Papers-Glazed Christmas, that I picked up last year. The sentiment is part stamp-i love you and part computer generated-snow much!. Then I cut it out with a circle punch. Now I just love my DH snow much!!  Get to creating! You have until Sunday 11/21 at midnight EST to link it! Hope to see you there! Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

Santa Slackers Challenge #11

Joy over at Purtty Paperz has a new Santa's Slackers challenge for this week. She has a great sketch posted over on her blog for you to follow and you are to use just a Christmas Tree on it. I cut my tree from Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge and the stars from Create A Critter cart. I used a Marvy Snow Marker for the snow on my tree and red half pearls for the ornaments. I covered the stars with Gold Stickles. I tore white paper for the snow on the ground and then used Sparkle Sheer Shimmer Spritz on it. Come and join in on the fun and get your Christmas cards made!!! I've got a nice stack going! Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

Bitten by the Bug 2-Create A Critter

This week over at Bitten by the Bug 2 this week the challenge is to use the dog on page 35 from the Create A Critter cartridge. Now if you don't have this cart, you can use a dog from another one. Well, I have this cart and I have to say I simple love it!! And this little doggy is just adorable!! I did mine in brown and white. Used gel pens on the eyes, nose and tongue. Then I used some foam tape to pop him up. I also cut the dog house. I had a left over turkey from an earlier card and decided to put him in the dog house and make my card a Thanksgiving card. The bg is from DCWV-The Autumn Splendor Stack. The sentiment is different stamps. Hop on over and play along! It is just so much fun!!! Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

M.A.G. Challenge #3

Over at M.A.G. Challenge this week is the 3rd challenge. This time you are to use Doodlecharms cartridge and to use page 93 only. I've been thinking on this one all weekend, trying to come up with a card. I decided to make an easel card. Cut 4 of the dragonflies. Two in purple and two in pink. I used Diamond Stickles on the bodies. Tiny little half pearls for the eyes. I cut 2 of each color so I could cut off the body off of one and put the wings between the bodies and bend them up. I also spritzed them with Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist to give them some more sparkle. I used bigger half pearls on the bottom of my card. The stamp is from My Pink Stampers Buggy Punnies Set. I think this will make a great 'Just Because' card. Hop on over and join in on the fun! Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

My Sheri Crafts-#30-Veterans/Troops

This week in honor of our Veterans and Troops, My Sheri Crafts challenge this week is to make a project honoring them. I used the flag from Stand and Salute. Added some gel pen dots for the stars. The 'Thank You' is a stamp. I will use this card as my 'To any Service Person' card when I turn in my Operation Write Home cards. This is about the time I started last year making cards for them. Right now it is Valentines cards. Kathy, who owns the LSS-Scrappin Kats got me started. She sends a box on a regular basis. Has crops to make cards. If you haven't made any for them, how about thinking about it. They so love the homemade cards to send to their loved ones. Hop on over and join in the fun at My Sheri Crafts and honor our Service Personal! Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)
