Bitten By the Bug 2-Banners

This week over at Bitten by the Bug 2 Beth had the pleasure of selecting the cartridge for this weeks challenge. She chose Country Life. The challenge is to use any special feature banner key. Now if you don't have this cart, use any banner from any Cricut cart. I looked through my handbook, trying to decide which banner to use and came across these-well, they look like bloomers to me! I thought, okay, now these are really really cute and different!!! Now, I don't mind being different at all. Then I had to decide what I wanted for the sentiment. Hang them out on the line and they will blow in the wind. That will do!! I used some sewing thread to hang them on. The holes are so small, twine was to big. You can find these on page 66. The letters I welded together and they are also from CL cart. Hop on over and join in on the fun. They post a new challenge every Monday. Hope ya'll like my card and my bloomers!!! :)

Santa Slackers #9

This week isn't a card. Huh! Santa Slackers and no card!!! The challenge is to make Tags!! Yep, tags. Since we (well most of us) put tags on our gifts why not make some homemade ones. They are just so nice! And Joy said while you're at it, why not make several! So I made four. I got my Gypsy girl all fired up and went to designing. I used Tags, Bags, Boxes & More for the tags. Used the blackout feature because I didn't want the slit in the top. I narrowed it up and shortened to just the size I wanted. Then I went to my Winter Frolic and decided what I wanted on my tags. I chose the Snowman on page 28, Mouse on page 56, Penguin on page 57 and the Limb/Birdhouse on page 63. I used some little half pearls for eyes and buttons and a black pen for eyes on the birds in the house. I used my Croc-a-dile and punched holes in the top and set some eyelets to put some ribbon through. I'll use ribbon to match the paper when I start wrapping. The bg papers I used are some that I got at my LSS-Scrappin Kats. They are from Harmonie-Blizzard. The snowman one is called Frosty and the birds one is called Cardinal. I can get a whole bunch of tags out of these two sheets of 12x12 cardstock. I also cut the tags is white so I could back my tags for some extra strength and so I would have a place to write the to and from. Hop on over and join in. It is so much fun!! Hope ya'll like my little tags.!!! :)

Halloween Socks

Janis at Pause Dream Enjoy is doing this neat little thing with Halloween Socks. If she can get at least 50 people to link their Halloween socked feet she will have a drawing for a small prize. And if it goes well, she'll do it again for Christmas. Now I've got a lot of different Christmas socks!! When you get to her blog just click on the Halloween sock photo at the top and it will take you to the right page to link. Sooooo, here are my Halloween socked feet!!! :)

New challenge blog! M.A.G. Challenge by the Page

Gloria of Girlia Cards  Melissa of Moe Creations and Adrian of by Adrian 4U have gotten together and started a new challenge blog. It is called M.A.G. Challenge by the Page Each Friday they will select a cartridge that they all have, blindly select a page and create a project from that page. It will be due on the following Wednesday. This first one is using the Celebrations cartridge and page 92. Challenge ends at 11:59, EST on 10/27. I got my cart down to look at page 92 and thought, "Oh My Gosh! What do I do with just balloons. I stewed on it for a few days and decided to use the banner feature.  I wanted something really cute for the background, so I decided to use this cute cardstock with these flowers on it. I cut 'celebrate' from page 26 as my sentiment. Cut the shaodow and the regular cut. I think this would be great to use as a 'Celebrate'  being a survivor card. I used some twine that I got from Papertreyink to 'hang' my banner up with. Hop on over and join in on the fun! You still have time! Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

Throwback Thursday-Sports

Well Emma over at Creative Time for Me is doing Sports for the theme for her Throwback Thursday. It's a good thing that she has extended the deadline for her challenges. I would have never gotten to enter this one if she hadn't! You now have until Wed. to link your project. This one is due by 6p PST on Wed., 10/27. I would have had my stuff up early this morning but my camera and computer were having issues with each other. I don't have the Sports Mania cartridge. The only sport one I have is Basketball, and I don't really like the cuts on it for a card. So I decided to go with 3 Birds on Parade cartridge. I just love this little Cheerleader on page 46. I did her in pink and her outfit in red and white for Alabama! The sentiment is also on pg. 46 and done in a darker pink. I just love the bg paper. I was going through some of my stash trying to find something that stuck my fancy for the bg and came across this. And I thought, "Oh this is cute. Think I'll use it!" This card can be used either for a sports fan or for a breast cancer card. That's why I chose pink for my little Cheerleader and sentiment. We do have to cheer for all these brave Ladies that are fighting this dreadful disease. That's it. Hop on over and join in. You still have time. Hope ya'll like my card!! :)

Paper Playtime Challenge #22

Good Monday Morning!! This week Pam is our Queen at Paper Playtime . Our challenge this week is to make a Halloween project. We are being sponsored by The Stamping Boutique. Go and visit Tracey. She has some of the cutest digi stamps around! She gave us some awesome stamps to chose from to use. I chose this cute little sign with a spider, it's web and a broom. I added the word 'Boo' on the sign. Since it is a circle I decided to use the snowglobe from Joys of The Season cartridge and make it into a crystal ball. The 'Happy Halloween' are rub-ons. The star cardstock is the reverse side of the Boo Bunny-Boo Crew Goblins sheet. I used Prismacolor Colored Pencils to color my stamp. We had a Pink Crop (my first crop ever) at the LSS-Scrappin Kats this past Saturday (10a-10p). A lady came and gave us an introduction to Copic's. I'm hooked!!!! LOL Now I've just got to talk DH into letting me invest in some of them!! I want you to make a creations and then hop over to Paper Playtime and link your creation so we can enjoy it with you! You have until midnight EST Sunday, October 31 to enter! Hope to see you there!!! Hope ya'll like my card! :)

My Sheri Crafts Challenge #28-Halloween

This week is the last week before Halloween. I don't know when the kiddies will be Trick or Treating in our area yet. We never get many here any more. The Grands come and there are 2 little girls next door. Then we get a few others. I buy candy that I don't mind eating so the leftovers don't go to waste. LOLOLOL Like they would evvvvver!!!!! Over at My Sheri Crafts the challenge this week is to make any project with a Halloween theme. I decided to do bags with toppers for the candy for the Grands and the little girls next door and a couple extra. The bags I got at Walmart in the craft section. They have a zippy top closure. The topper I made using Lacy Labels Lite Cartridge. I only used the shadow feature, folded them in half and stapled them to the top of the filled bag. All of the bags have a different addition to them. I cut different cuts from Happy Hauntings to emblish the toppers. I used foam tape to attach them. I took a photo of all of them and then one of just 3. Hop on over and join in on the fun! They post a new challenge every Saturday! Hope ya'll like my Treat Bags!!!  I think the Grands will like them!! Or maybe just the candy on the inside! LOL :)

Pie

This week at Crafty Creations challenge #90 is a color challenge. Use red, brown and green. You are not limited to just these three colors, just use them on your card or project! They post a new challenge every Wednesday. Then over at Jitterbuggin sketch 21 is called The Pumpkin Patch. Now Sherri always has the best sketches!! So all you have to do is follow the sketch, add at least one pumpkin somewhere on your card, emboss something, any type/any way and you must use a Cricut cut. You have until 11:59, EST, on Wednesday, 10/27 to link your card. I used Speaking of Fall cartridge for my pumpkins and Country Life for the pies. The pattern cardstock is from DCWV-The Autumn Splendor Stack. Now here is where I have to make a confession........ I forgot to do the 'emboss something' on your card part. I was all finished and was reading over the instructions again and said 'Oh goshy dogs, I didn't emboss anything!!' Now, I knew if I thought about it I could fix this little problem. Well, I did. I took a piece of orange cardstock, ran it through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder. Then I took my EK photo corner punch and punched out the corners. I hope you can tell that they are embossed I think they added a little something extra to my card! Hop on over to Crafty Creations and Jitterbuggin and join in on the fun!! Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

Awareness

This week at Cricut Cardz Challenge challenge #47 is to make a card for Breast Cancer Awareness using any cartridges or colors you'd like. You have until midnight EST, Tuesday, 10/26 to link your card. I used Lacy Labels Lite Cartridge and did this really neat butterfly tag to use. I did the shadow in a mint green, the label is dark pink, the design in lilac and the butterflies in a soft pink. The pattern cardstock is from Tim Holtz and I also inked with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain. Then I used some light light pink half pearls in two of the corners. I stamped 'awareness' from letter stamps. The top photo didn't turn out really well. I was having all sorts of problems. Everything looks pink for some reason or other. The card itself in lilac. Maybe that's why. The bottom one turned out much better.   Hop on over and join in on the fun! Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

Santa Slackers #8

This week Joy at purtty paperz is doing Santa Slackers #8. Make a side step card, a stair step card or an easel card. Now, I can't seem to be able to get a side step or stair step card to work right, buy I'm not to bad with easel cards. I haven't made one in a while but I really like how they look. I used Celebrate With Flourish cartridge. Soooo excited that I was able to link it with my Gypsy with the latest update!! I decided to cut the tree but not all the layers. I didn't want the swirls nor the ornament dots. Then I cut the 'merry christmas'. I didn't cut the shadow cut though. The two pattern papers are from Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather Mini Deck. Such cute little sheets. They are 6x6. I used some purple and lilac half pearls for my ornaments. Also added some in the corners of the bottom pattern paper and small one in the top corners on the top piece. I cut two of the trees and stars. Popped up the top tree, adheared one star and then popped up the other one. I used a brown bic marker and colored in the trunk of the tree. I used my Scallop scallop punch on the top of the bottom pattern sheet. Hope ya'll like my card!! :)

Old West-Barn

This week at Bitten by the Bug 2 the challenge is to make a creation using the barn from the Old West cartridge. If you don't have this cartridge, you can use any cartridge that has a barn on it. Every cut on my card is from Old West cart. The barn, horse, hay, pitchfork, horseshoes and the sentiment (welded the letter together). Did some faux stitching around the letters. Head on over to Bitten by the Bug 2 and enter a project. They post a new challenge every Monday! Hope ya'll like my card!! :)

My Sheri Crafts-Boss's Day

This week over at My Sheri Crafts challenge #27 is in honor of Boss's Day. Create something for the boss. And, if you don't have a boss, you can make a card that honors the person who has a postive influence in your daily life. My boss has a Yorkie named Jackson that she loves very much. I think more than her DH! And she also loves animal prints. I really like the little dog (looks enough like a Yorkie to me) from Just Because Cards cartridge. So I cut this cute little dog and cut the phrase also. I used a black half pearl for the eye and bling on the collar. On the inside I used some rub-ons for 'Boss' and another dog in a smaller size. The designer cardstock is Anna Griffin-Peyton Collection. Now hop on over to My Sheri Crafts and join in on the fun! They post a new challenge every Saturday. Hope ya'll like my card!! :)

Crafty Creations-Show a Number

It took me until today to get a card made for Crafty Creations challenge #89. You are to create something with a number showing somewhere on it. I just couldn't think of anything to make. Then I thought of a Halloween layout with the number 31 on it. Well, I started going through my stash to see what cardstock to use and ended up deciding to do a card. I used Happy Hauntings cartridge for all of my cuts. The patterned
cardstock is from Martha Stewart Holidays Mat Pad (Halloween). Put Mrs. Frankie on the front and Frankie on the inside. I'm thinking that maybe I shouldn't have used so much purple but I think that I really do like it. Some of the candy corn on the cardstock is shiny. I don't think you can tell that in the photos though. On gosh! The purple on the inside looks like a dark pink and the orange on the front looks yellow!!  Hop on over to Crafty Creations and join in on the fun. They post a new challenge on Wednesdays. Hope ya'll like my card!! :)

Paper Playtime Challenge #21

It is Monday again! Another Paper Playtime challenge! WhooHoo! Exciting!! This week we have Queen Lisa in the staring role!! You can make any kind of paper craft that you would like. Be it a card, layout, altered item, 3-D item. Anything made from paper. Our theme this week is to use pumpkins, spider webs or both. This week we are sponsered by Digital Delights by Louby Loo.  I chose this adorable 'Pumpkin Lara' stamp. Now, we all know I'm not the best colorer on the block, but I gave it a good try. I used Prismacolor
Color Pencils. I think she turned out looking pretty cute. I just love the grin on her face. I fussy cut  around her and adhered her to the paper. I used this awesome pattern paper from My Mind's Eye-Boo to You Fright Night for my background. The sentiment is computer generated and cut out with a scallop punch and popped up with some foam tape. The 'happy halloween' on the inside is a stamp. Hop on over to Paper Playtime and join in on the fun! You have until midnight EST, Sunday Oct. 24 to link your project. Come on, link a project so we can enjoy your creation with you! Hope ya'll like my card!! :)

Haunted House

Over at Bittenbythebug2 the challenge this week is to make the 3-D Haunted House from Happy Hauntings. Okay. I wasn't gonna do this one. I really really wasn't! Didn't think I would have time with my busy work schedule this week, but I just could not do the challenge. I cut the pieces out on Tues. evening so I could put it together today when I was off. Cut it at 7 inches. Took me about 5 hrs. to get it all together and decorated.
All the decorations I used are stickers from my stash. Hop on over to Bittenbythebug2 and join in on this fun!
They post a new challenge every Monday!! Hope ya'll like my Haunted House!!! :)
I've got photo's of all four sides. When DH walked into my craft room and saw my Haunted House, he said, 'WOW!!!' Made me beam!!

Throwback Thursday-Everyday Paper Doll

This week over at Creativetimeforme Emma's Throwback Thursday challenge is to make an 'Animal' theme project using 'Everday Paper Doll' cartridge. If you don't have this cart, use any older cartridge. You have until Wed., 10/20 at 6pm PST to link your project. I made a shaped card from the duck on page 38. I first welded it together at the top using my Gyspy and cut it out in white. Then I used some duck glitter cardstock from atd 'Baby Steps' Specialty Collection Stack to cut a top layer. I cut the wing by running most of the duck off the edge of the page and then cutting it out once I cut in on my E. I hid the eye so I could use a half black pearl. The sentiment is computer generated, cut out with a round punch and then put it into the punch a little ways to make a half moon. Then I tucked it up under the wing a little. I also did a little duck for the inside. I did some faux stitching on the bottom of the wing and sentiment piece. Hop on over to Emma's and join in on the fun!! Hope ya'll like my card!! :)

My Sheri Crafts-In Stitches and Cricut Cardz Challenge-Anything Goes

Over at My Sheri Crafts this week challenge #26 is 'In Stitches'. You are challenged to stitch something on your project. It can be real or faux and manual or machine. They post a new challenge every Saturday.  Then over at Cricut Cardz  challenge #46 is Anything Goes!! Make a card using any cartridge, colors or theme you'd like. I just love those kind!! You have until midnight EST, Tues., 10/19.
For my card I decided to make a card for one of the guys that I work with. He is a fellow Asst. Manager. He is a big football fan. Alabama is our team of choice! Roll Tide!!!!! We lost this past weekend for the first time this year. (Janis is smiling big over there. I can see it Janis!! Her team beat us!) I thought I'd make him this card so he will feel better about the loss. I used 3 Birds on Parade and cut the football bird on page 51. I cut all of the layers. Then I used Everyday Paperdolls and cut the goal post. I cut the bottom part of the goal post in red. It doesn't have that layer so I used my Gypsy and ran the top part off the side of the page and cut enough of it and then cut it to fit. Then I only glued part of the goal post to my card and cut the rest of it off. I used George for my 'GO TEAM GO', welding letters together. I used my white gel pen to make the football field. Now I'm not a really huge sports person, so I had to get online and hunt a picture to see how it really looked! LOL I then did some faux stitching in white around the letters, in red around the helmet and on the inside some white on the red and red on the white. I'm gonna give this card to him on Saturday morning when we get to work so he'll hopefully have a smile on his face before Alabama plays again! Hop on over to My Sheri Crafts and Cricut Cardz and join in on the fun! Hope ya'll like my card. :)

Gingerbread Man

I just love the sketch that Joy has for this weeks Santa Slackers challenge. Now I'm like Joy, I didn't really like the triangle until I figured out what to do with it. Think I got it covered pretty good. I used Stretch Your Imagination for my Gingerbread Men. Their faces are from Peach Keen's stamp set, Snow Cutie Face Assortment, which I just soooooo love!!! Used some half black pearls for the buttons. The green and both patterned papers are from Me and My Big Ideas Paper Pack that I picked up last year after Christmas. The green I'm decided would be a cute cookie sheet for my little Gingerbread Man before he escaped! I did some faux stitching around the cookie sheet in white and in red around the bottom pattern sheet. The sentiment is from a stamp set I picked up after Christmas last year from Walmart. It was all one line but I cut it apart so I could use it above/below. I like it better this way. Then I used my ek ticket punch and punched it out and did some red stitching around it. Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

Paper Play Time Challenge #20

Happy Monday Morning!!! And welcome to a new challenge at Paper Playtime! This week you are to use 'Orange' as your main color. Make any type of paper project that you would like. A card, layout, 3-D creations, altered item, just anything and hop on over to Paper Playtime and link you creation up so we can enjoy it with you! You have until midnight EST on Sunday, Oct. 17 to link your creation. Now on to my card. I used the Mini Monsters cartridge for my monster. I decided it needed some arms and legs so I got those from 3 Birds on Parade cartridge. Gave it some bling for it's eyeballs. I mounted it with foam tape to give it some dimension. I cut the monster from some pattern paper from my MS Holiday Pack (Halloween) and the background pattern paper is from DCWV the Doodlin' Around Stack-For All Year Round. Then I added some Halloween ribbon. That little spider up in the corner is printed on the paper. Isn't that sooooo cool?! I just love it!! The sentiment is a Daisy Bucket designs stamp. Hop on over and play! We would looooove to have you! Hope ya'll like my card!! :)

Sweet Baby

This week over at Crafty Creations they are having challenge #88-A Sketch. Jeanet from Holland is the host for this weeks challenge and she has made a sketch for you to follow. She says that you may rotate or resize it as long as she can see the original sketch in it. Also you have to use a rubber stamp and ribbon or lace somewhere on your card. Now, I'm not the world's best colorer. Faaaaaarrrrrr from it!! But if I wanted to do this challenge, I had to give it a try. I have this cute little stamp from Stampabilities called 'Rocking Horse' that I think is really cute. So I decided to do a baby card and use this stamp. I colored my image with Prismacolor Colored Pencils. I then used George and the center point and cut it out on my E. I don't think I did the center point to good, but it's not really aweful. I used some K i Memories Little Guy Pack pattern papers for the two background papers. Had these flower brads that I used and this polka dot ribbon. I used My Pink Stampers Everyday Occasions for the sentiment.  The sponsor for this challenge is Simon Says Stamp store. Hop on over and enter for a prize. It's soooo much fun!! They post a new challenge every Wednesday. Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

Throwback Thursday Shaped Card

Emma is back this week with a Throwback Thursday challenge! This week Emma wants you to use Create-A-Critter cartridge (if you don't have this one use any older cart), create a 'Shaped' card and include the color 'Orange' somewhere in your card. I decided to make the squirrel. I used the shadow feature, flipping one and welding them together at the bottom. Then I cut the layers, cutting an extra of the bottom layer for the inside of my card. I hid the eye holes so I could use some half pearls for the eyes. I cut a couple of acorns in orange and brown. Popped up the acron on the front.  Hummmm, in my photos, my acorn doesn't really look orange on the front, but does on the inside. Guess because it is on the burnt orange on the front. And that looks more like a yellow like the acorn. Go figure. I used a My Pink Stamper stamp from the Punnylicious set. Hop on over to Emma's blog and join in on the fun. You have until Sat., 10/09 at 6pm CST to link your entry. Hope ya'll like my card!! :)

Cluck Cluck

This week at cricutcardz challenge #45 is to make a card for Thanksgiving using any cartridges and any colors you'd like. You have until Tuesday Oct. 12 at midnight EST to link your card. I cut the turkey from Create-A-Critter cartridge. I didn't cut the hat. Used some bling for the eyes. On Country Life cartridge, there are a couple of different chickens. One of the layer features has the top of the head with the comb. I cut the comb and put it between the top and bottom layers of my turkey. The words 'cluck' I cut from Animal Kingdom cartridge. Used some twine from Papertreyink, wrapping it around the top layer. Then I pop dotted my turkey and the smaller cluck. Hop on over to cricutcardz and join in on the fun! Hope ya'll like my card!! :)

Christmas Slacker #6

Well Joy has done it again. Another Christmas Slacker challenge. I decided to use one of the trees from Winter Frolic cartridge. I hid the ornaments on it so I could use my own. These are called nail heads that I picked up I think at HL on clearance. I think they make perfect ornaments. The scallop circle I cut from Straight From The Nest cartridge. The bg tree cardstock is from Bazzill Glazed Christmas pack I picked up last year and the flower pattern paper is from K&Company Specialty Paper Pad (Christmas) that I also got last year. Those after Christmas sales are great!! The Merry Christmas which I'm sad to say blended in too much with the flowers in the photo, but can see better in person, is a stamp. Guess I should have used black ink instead on brown ink to stamp it with. I'm coming along on my collection of Christmas Cards thanks to Joy having these challenges! Join in on the fun!! Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

Breast Cancer Awareness-My Sheri Crafts

This past Saturday Sheri issued challenge #25. Since Oct. is 'Breast Cancer Awareness' month, they wanted to make sure everyone does their part in making all aware and to be checked. The challenge is to make a card, layout, sign or anything having to do with breast cancer. I'm sure everyone knows at least one person that has been touched by this horrid disease. A lady that use to work with us is recovering. And my BFF's Mother is battling it right now. So I decided to make a card. I believe 'faith', 'prayers' and 'hope' play a big part in our everyday lives so that is what I went with on my card. I know it is real simple and just right to the point. And all pink. I got my ribbon from Stand and Salute, faith from Home Accents, Prayers I welded together from Gypsy Font and hope from Home Decor. The bg paper is from Bella Rose-Bella Bella. I misted my ribbon and words with Frost Sheer Shimmer Spritz from Tsukineko. Hop on over to MySheriCrafts and join in. She posts a new challenge every Saturday. Hope ya'll like my card!! :)

We Love You

This week over at bittenbythebug2 the challenge is to use Graphically Speaking cartridge 'pointed hand' cut.
I decided to make a layout. The 'we' I welded together from George. The 'love you' is cut from Sugar and Spice. And of course the pointed hand is from Graphically Speaking. I also cut the '9's' from GS. The bg cardstock is from Prima Marketing-Flights of Fancy Collection-"faith". The empty spot I will put a photo of our Grands. We have 9 of them. Hence, the 9's on the bottom. The flowers are Color Me Crazy by Petaloo.
I first misted them with Tutti Fruitti Glimmer Mist and then misted them with Pearl Glimmer Mist. The centers are just some little candy from MS that I picked up at HL last year. Ya'll need to head over to bittenbythebug2 and join in on the fun! They post a new challenge every Monday. Hope ya'll like my layout!!

Paper Play Time Challenge #19-Ribbon, Buttons,&/or Rhinestones

I am most humbly honored to be chosen as a Paper Queen for Paper Play Time. I have never been on a Design Team before so this is all new to me. I hope I can hold up to what everyone expects from a DT member. Our leader Janis is just wonderful!! And I think we have the most talented DT members. Check out their blogs. They are all listed over there on my side bar. And of course we want you to come and play in paper with us at Paperplaytime ! We have the best challenges!! There is a new one every Monday. You can make anything out of paper that you would like. A card, layout, altered item, 3-D item, home decor, just anything made from paper!!
This is my first card as a DT Paper Queen. Challenge #19 is to use ribbon, buttons and/or rhinestones. I chose to use all three. I made an A2 size card. I cut the spider and web from Mini Monsters cartridge. I cut them in white. Then I cut the spider in black. Since it was all attached lines, I ran most of the web off the screen on my Gypsy so only a small part of the web cut. I then cut the bit that did cut off of my spider. I cut two of them. I used StarDust Stickles on the spider web and Black Diamond Stickles (found this at my LSS-Scrappin Kats-had never seen it before) on the spiders legs. I dug in my jar of buttons (scattering them everywhere) until I found two black buttons for my spiders. I then added some orange rhinestones for their eyes. I had this spider web ribbon that I had gotten at HB that I thought would be cute across the bottom. Then I put some rhinestones in black and clear for just a little more added bling in the top corner and on the inside. The pattern cardstock I used is from Martha Stewart Holiday Pack  I'm loving this stack. It's all Halloween.
I didn't put a sentiment on my card. I will when I decide whom I'm gonna give it to. Hop on over to Paperplaytime and join in on the fun! You have until Sunday, October 10, midnight EST to enter. Thanks for playing with us in paper!! Hope ya'll like my card!! :)
