Santa's Slackers Challenge

Joy at http://joy-purttypaperz.blogspot.com/ has a new Santa's Slackers Challenge. She didn't show a sketch so I just went from the photo of her card. I used Speaking of Winter cartridge and cut the letter 'Q' which is a snowman face. I used Diamond Stickles on the nose. The tags are from a Cuttlebug Dies set called 'Tag Along'. I hand wrote 'Let It Snow'. Used half pearls where the holes are on the tags and tiny half black pearls for the eyes. I used the 'Snowflakes' Cuttlebug embossing folder on the background paper and then rubbed an inkpad over the top. Used yellow ribbon. Hope ya'll like my card!! :)

Snow Night

Over at http://paperplaytime.blogspot.com/ challenge #18 is Listen to the Rhythm of the Falling Rain. Melissa is our Queen this week. Now you can use any type of 'Water' on your project-rain, snow, frost, ice. sleet, dew, waves, river, sea, pool, puddle, bubbles, etc. Also, you can make any kind of project you want-card, layout, altered item, etc. You have until Sunday 10/03 at midnight EST to enter. So hop on over and join in on the awesome fun!! Now onto my project. I decided to make a layout and do it about snow. Now, here in Alabama, we don't get a whole lot of snow and when we do, it's really exciting. I took 2 of the photos at about 3am and the other one after daylight. Yeah I know, crazy!!! The snowflake paper I used is from a Christmas paper pad from me & my Big ideas that I got on clearance. I also used three snowflake brads that I had picked up at HL last year. The word 'SNOW' is cut from Speaking of Winter cartridge. Thought it was perfect for this layout. I put some Diamonds stickles in the center of the 'O'. Not sure if you can see the snow falling in the middle photo. In the right one, DH had written on the back window of my car. He's sooooo sweet!! This is the kind of snow I like. Comes, looks pretty falling, collects a little and then gone before dark the next day! Hope ya'll like my layout!! :)

The other Baby Bottle card

Okay, I'm gonna post the other Baby Bottle card that I made. Used Gyspy Wanderings for the bottle, liner and little bottle. 'Baby Girl' was cut from Sugar and Spice. Cut the shadow also. Used more bling on this one since it is girly!!! Hope ya'll like it!! :)

Welcome Baby

Over at http://cricutcardzchallenge.blogspot.com/ this week is challenge #43. You are to make a card for a new baby using any cartridge and the colors green, orange, yellow and white only. You have until midnight EST Tuesday 9/28 to enter. So hop on over and join in on the fun!!
Now, I don't know what happened, but I made this card twice. Yep, twice. The first one turned out so pretty. I have it blinged up and everything. The only problem is that I failed to follow the colors. Yeah, my brain had left the building. Now here is where our DD will say (when she reads this), Bahahahahahah! Mom thinks she has a brain!!! LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!! She's such a darling daughter. I was thinking I needed a card for this guy I work with. They are expecting their first and it's a girl. So I did it in such pretty pinks, cream and white and yellow. Blinged it up like all girls like. Took pictures and then reread the challenge. So I cut and made this one. I used Gypsy Wonderings for the bottle. Flipped one of them and then welded together to form the card. Then I cut the nipple in white and a darker green. Cut off the bottom of the green one for the screw cap part. Used Gypsy Font for the 'Welcome Baby'. Welded the letters together. Did a liner and a little bottle for the inside. Used My Pink Stampers Everyday Occasions stamp for the Congratulations! Then I blinged it up a little. I'll use this one when someone has a boy. I'll post my pink one in a day or so. Hope ya'll like my card!! :)

Harvest

Over at http://jitterbugginchallenge.blogspot.com/ this week is sketch 19-Happy Fall Y'all! All you have got to do is follow the sketch, add a Cricut Fall element: leaves, pumpkins, sunflowers, scarecrows, etc., and add something plaid (can be small....just a ribbon is fine....). You have until Wed. 9/29 at 11:59 EST to link your entry. Hop on over and join the fun! Top 3 and 1 random winner will be entered into the drawing for October 31st cartridge!!! WhooHoo!
I used Country Life cartridge to cut my fall vegs and 'Harvest'(welded together). Used Walk In My Garden to cut the sunflowers. The bg and plaid cardstocks are from DCWV-The Auntum Splendor Stack. Awesome for those Fall and Thanksgiving cards. The leaves down the side and across the bottom is ribbon that I got at Hobby Lobby. Hope ya'll like my card!! :)

Falling Leaves

Over at http://craftycreationschallenges.blogspot.com/ challenge #86 is Falling Leaves. I made a card and an envelope. The envelope is to honor the 5 Million Celebration Post #5 (Karlee's Challenge) over at http://www.mypinkstamper.com/. She is celebrating reaching 5 million hits. I used Straight From The Nest Cartridge for the birds and leaves. I flipped one of the birds. I didn't cut the small black dot. Instead, I used a small half black pearl, then perched them on a limb that is on the bg cardstock. The word 'Fall' is from George, reg. cut and shadow. I then pop dotted them up. I made my card from kraft cardstock. The pattern cardstock is from Moxxie. It is from the Shades of Autumn line, and this sheet is called Branching Out. I picked it up at my LSS-Scrappin Kats. I made my envelope using my MS scoreboard. Love it for making envelopes. I put a stripe from the pattern cardstock across the bottom of the front and put some larger leaves in the same colors that I used on my card. Hop over to craftycreations and join in on the fun. They post a new challenge every Wednesday. I think Robyn will chose her winners tomorrow. At least I hope it's not until then!! Hope ya'll like my card and envelope!! :)

Birdie Card

Robyn ove at http://www.mypinkstamper.com/ has hit the 5 million hits mark!! WhooHoo!!! She is doing these awesome giveaways and challenges to celebrate. The first challenge is to make a project using a bird cut. I needed a birthday card for this really great guy at work. He has been then quite a few years, a little challenged, but one of our very very best workers. He went to school with our DD. Customers will wait in line just so he can check them out. I grabbed up my Gypsy and went to work. I used this cute little birthday bird from the 3 Birds on Parade cartridge. Cut all the layers. Used some stickles on the icing to give it a little sparkle and a black half pearl for the eye. Used MPS Tweetie Hoo Puns stamp set for the front and inside sentiments. Used this great glittered balloon paper that I got somewhere(can't remember!), but I think it worked great for this card. Robyn is doing these challenges all weekend so hop on over and join in on the fun! Hope ya'll like my card. My friend did. A lot of the other employees signed it and that put a big smile on his face. That's all that counts!! :)

Throwback Thursday-No Cricut Card

Well this week over at http://www.creativetimeforme.com/ Emma wants you to create a card using no machines. I really had to think on this one. I'm use to grabbing up my Gypsy and designing something, cutting it out and then putting it all together. I have this awesome paper I got from my LSS 'Scrappin Kats' that has this wonderful Cornucopia on it. It is from Goosberry Patch and is called Cornucopia Delight. I cut the corner out, wrapped some twine from Papertreyink around it and put it on some kraft cardstock. I had another sheet called Thanksgiving Feast that I cut the feast part off, rounded the corners and glued on. The stickers I used are from Walmart that I got last year. The inside sheet is part of the Thanksgiving Feast sheet. The two stripes down the sides are cut from the sides of the first sheet. I think I kinda like it, although I missed getting my Gypsy out for this one. Ya'll have until tonight at 6 pm CST to get something created and entered. Hope ya'll like my card!! :)

Candle

This week over at http://heather-bittenbythebug2.blogspot.com/ the theme is candle. They would love for you to use the candle from the October 31st cart, but for those of us that do not have this cart, we can use any candle. Then over at http://joy-purttypaperz.blogspot.com/ Joy and her friend are still doing the Santa's Slackers Challenge. This is #4. All they ask is that you use any Christmas cart, follow the basic guide lines of the sketch, use tradtional Chrismas colors...red, green, gold and white and add ribbon. So I used the Christmas Solutions Cartridge for my candles and candle holders. I decided to go with some paper ribbon. That is the stripe beside the candles. I stamped the sentiment in gold. It says, 'Have yourself a Merry Christmas'. Hop on over to these blogs and join in on the fun!! Hope ya'll like my card!! :)

Autumn Layout

Covered two challenges with this one!! WhooHoo!!! :) At http://myshericrafts.blogspot.com/ challenge #23 and http://paperplaytime.blogspot.com/ challenge #17 the theme for both is Autumn. Lisa is the Paper Queen this week at paperplaytime. You can make any kind of project you would like. I chose to make a layout. The bg paper is from sei nutmeg paper pad. This is just an awesome paper pad for those autumn/fall projects!! The tree and leaves I cut from Jubilee, the wagon from Just Because Cards and the mailbox and mail from My Community. I cut extra leaves to have some for the wagon, falling and more for the tree. I didn't put anything to mount a photo on because I didn't want to cover anymore of the bg. I'll use a smaller photo and decide how to mount it when I get that far! Hop on over to myshericrafts (new challenge every Saturday) and paperplaytime (you have until Sunday 9/26 at midnight EST) and enter your Autumn project! Hope ya'll like my layout!! :)
It was a super duper pain to photo. Sorry the photos do not do it justice.

Apple

This week Sherri over at http://jitterbugginchallenge.blogspot.com/ wants you to follow the sketch, use red/green/yellow, add something black, include an apple and use your Cricut! Love the sketch! I may use this one again with a different type of card!! I used George for the ovals, Don Juan for the letters that I welded together with my Gypsy and Happily Ever After for the Apple. I popped the apple up on the front. I made a 6x6 card, the bottom green layer is 5 3/4 sq., the pattern on is 5 1/2 sq., the next green is 5x5 and the yellow one is 4 3/4 sq. Hop over to jitterbuggin and enter an apple card. You have until 11:59 EST on Wed. 9/22 to enter. Hope ya'll like my card!! :)

Twinkle Little Star

Over at http://craftycreationschallenges.blogspot.com/ this week is challenge #85-Music and/or Dance. I decided to make a layout. When our DD/SIL and their Chicks lived with us while they built their home, I would sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to them. The twins were 2 at that time (they just turned 6 last week)! They would hollar sing MeeMee sing!!! Now I don't sing really well but to 2 year olds I guess I wasn't to bad! LOL I will add a photo of them from the time they were living here. I have plenty!!!!!! :) I used Create-a-Critter for the stars, Ashlyn's Alphabet for the letters (welded together) and Sugar and Spice for the scallop rectangles. When I got it all together, I spritzed some Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist all over it. Hop over to craftycreations and enter! They announce the new challenges on Wednesday so you still have time! Hope ya'll like my layout!! :)

Candy Corn

This week over at http://cricutcardzchallenge.blogspot.com/ Mary said to make a card for Halloween using the card feature from any cartridge and using any colors you'd like. I decided to use the Mini Monster cartridge and the little Candy Corn card feature. I also did layers for the front and inside. Her little face is from Peachy Keen Stamp set Princess Face Assortment. The Happy Halloween and Jack-0-lantern are just some stamps I picked up somewhere. I think maybe Walmart.  Hop on over to cricutcardzchallenge and enter a card! You have until Tues. 9/21 at midnight EST. Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

Santa's Slackers Challenge #3-Trim the Tree

Joy over at http://joy-purttypaperz.blogspot.com/ posted this challenge last Monday. I finally got a card made for it.  She had this awesome sketch to follow. I used George for the triangles that I used for the trees and Create-a-Critter for my little reindeer. The Merry Christmas is a stamp. Hope ya'll like my card. :)

Shoes

Over at http://paperplaytime.blogspot.com/ for challenge #16, the theme is-If the shoe fits, buy one of every color. You can make a card, layout, 3-D project or any other paper craft project. I decided to make a layout. I was going to go with a card, got everything cut out and realized my words were way to big, so went with this layout. I think I like it better than a card anyways. I used Old West cartridge for all of my cuts. I welded the letters together on my Gypsy. Inked everything in cocoa. The four horseshoes on the top right will be where my photo will go when I come up with something cute for this. The background paper is from Creative Imaginations-Samantha Walker, that I got at my LSS Scrappin' Kats. Thought it went perfect with the horseshoes!! Hope ya'll like my layout!!! :)
(It was a real pain to photograph!!!)

Throwback Thursday Challenge Episoce 93

Hello!!! I'm sooooo behind! My Sister was home from Texas last weekend and she didn't leave until this past Wednesday. Also had family reunion on Sunday and an Aunt from Virginia that we haven't seen in forever was here for that. Had the best time but it all threw me behind. But soooo worth it! Then work this week has been super crazy!! This is my card from Emma's Throwback Thursday. She can be found here: http://www.creativetimeforme.com/ . (One of these days I'll learn how to do that with the here that your can click and not have to type the addy! LOL) I used the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge for my jack-o-lantern. The little card on the front is one of the frame on there that I welded together and made into the card. I cut the 'Boo' off the front flap. The inside is a bat stamp that I got from Pez-a-doodle along with the bat skittles. Love those! Also added some half pearls for a little bling. The Happy Halloween is a stamp. I did a plain pumpkin for the inside. Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

Fall

This week over at http://cricutcardzchallenge.blogspot.com/  #41 is to make a Fall card. The only thing is, you can't use any brown, orange or yellow in your card. Now, that is a hard one in my book! Those are just true fall colors!!! But I came up with a way around it all. I used George for the letters (welded on my Gypsy), Everyday Paper Dolls for the grass, Stretch Your Imagination for the leaves and Freshly Picked for the rake and wheelbarrow. The bg and green papers are from SEI Nutmeg Paper Pad. The pattern paper is a rust/maroon color with these awesome gold leaves on it. I was going to cut the tree from the SYI cart, too, but it just wouldn't work being green. Hop on over and join the fun. You have until midnight EST tonight to enter. Hope ya'll like my card!

Happy Birthday Cuttlebug Challenge!!!!

Over at http://cuttlebugchallenge.blogspot.com/ they are celebrating their 2nd birthday so the challenge is to create a Happy Birthday card with at least two layers and of course, use your cuttlebug!! This is their Be Inspired #100! Isn't that exciting!!!  Also, over at http://cardcreationsbyc.blogspot.com/ Christina is doing a Ribbon and Bling Challenge/Giveaway. She said to use ribbon and bling and the only other stipulation is that you make a new project. I used this little bird from the Straight From The Nest Cartridge. The presents also came from the SFTN cart. I cut extra hats, wings, beak and presents so I could pop up a layer. The pattern bg paper I embossed with the D'vine Swirl folder. The ribbon is just some I had and used some bling. The sentiment 'It's your bird-day!' is from My Pink Stampers Tweetie Hoo Puns set. Hop on over and join in on the fun at cuttlebugchallenge and cardcreationsbyc. Hope ya'll like my card.

need a ride?

Challenge #84 over at http://craftycreationschallenges.blogspot.com/ this week is Transportation. Any project and any form of transportation. I thought of the stagecoach on the Old West cartridge. I've been meaning to cut it and use it on a scrapbook page from my trip to Texas, but just haven't done it yet. I really think it turned out pretty cute for this card. The 'need a ride?' is also cut from the OW cart using the flourish. Hop on over to craftycreations and join in on the fun! Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

Going Old School

This week at http://jitterbugginchallenge.blogspot.com/ sketch #17 is-Going Old School. Sherri says to follow the sketch, show primary colors, meaning use blue, red and yellow on your card and use your Cricut. You have until Wed. 9/15 at 11:59 EST to enter. So hop on over and join in on the fun!! For my card I used the Paisley cartridge. I really like this dragonfly. I haven't decided exactly what I will use this card for yet, but with all the Grands we have, I think it would be a cute Birthday card. Hope ya'll like my card!! :)

Thinking of You

Over at http://www.myshericrafts.blogspot.com/ challenge #22 this week is Thinking of You. I had this sunflower paper that I thought was really cute, so I decided to use that for the bg. I cut the flowers from George and glimmer misted them and put a glitter brad in the center. The 'Thinking Of You' is  cut from Gypsy Font. Used a little bling for the dots of the i's. Added the chocolate ribbon on the side and just tied a knot. Hop on over to myshericrafts and join in on the fun! Hope ya'll like my card!! :)

Castles, Knights and Damsels In Distress!

Well, I don't have a Damsel in distress nor a knight, but I do have a princess and a castle! Over at http://paperplaytime.blogspot.com/ this is the theme for challenge #15. Sandra is our Paper Queen this week.
I needed a birthday card for one of the Granddaughters. She will be 9. I thought this would be a perfect theme for her card. All of our GD are Princess'!! I used the Once Upon a Princess cartridge. The little girl from pg. 26, the dress from pg. 28 and the castle from pg. 44. I used a Peachy Keen Princess Stamp for her face. I found this crown glittered cardstock in my stash and thought it would be perfect. I cut a set of the bows a little bigger to use on the inside. Hop on over to paperplaytime and join in on the fun! You have until Sunday 9/12 at midnight EST to enter. Hope ya'll like my card!!! :)

Halloween Boot

Today, Mary over at http://cardztv.blogspot.com/ has issued a challenge. And it is to make a Halloween card. I used Happy Hauntings to make mine. I cut the boot from pg. 51 and it layers. I pop dotted it so it would stand out from the bg. paper. I used purple half pearls for the buttons and one on the tip of the boot. I also put 2 on the inside. The sentiment is from a Will 'n Way stamp set that I've had a few yrs. I'm gonna give this one to my boss (she's my BFF also). She has this thing about shoes and a really big thing about boots. Thought this one would be perfect for her. The bg pattern paper is from heidi grace designs. It says, trick-or-treat...smell my feet...give me something good to eat... I just love it!!!!  Hop on over to cardztv and play. You have until midnight EST Tues. 9/14 to enter. Then on Thurs. 9/16 Mary will announce a winner. She hasn't told what the prize is yet. Hope ya'll like my Halloween card! :)

52Q-Week 6

I know I haven't done anything for week 5 yet, but I do plan to. The question was 'What good thing happened to your this week?' Well, nothing good happened. In fact, we had a super busy week at work with the first of the month and Labor coming up and some of the most rudest people! Sometimes it's really hard to work in a grocery store! Ok, enough of my belly aching! On to week 6!!! Question is 'What's Your Favorite Season?' Well, it's a toss up between Spring And Fall and I decided to go with Fall. I just had to do this turkey from Stretch Your Imagination. He is hiding behind a bale of hay that I cut from Old West. I think he turned out pretty cute! Fall is so wonderful! I can sit in my kitchen and look out back and see the most beautiful colors when the trees start turning. And then come Thanksgiving, eat turkey!!! I'm ready!! LOL
Hop on over to http://pausedreamenjoy.blogspot.com/ and join in on the 52Q and make a mini book about yourself. Hope ya'll like my turkey and hay!! :)

Labor Day

This week over at http://www.myshericrafts.blogspot.com/ challenge #21 is Labor Day. This is in honor of this special holiday. You can create anything from cards to home decor items. I decided to make a layout of what I would have loved to have done on Labor Day. But I had to work. Monday is usually my off day but the boss decided she wanted off so.... The sun and umbrella are cut from Life is a Beach cartridge, the grass from Plantin Schoolbook and everything else is from Block Party. On the glass, I hid the bubbles and cut off the straw and the bubbles at the top. Hop on over to myshericrafts and join in on the fun! She posts a new challenge every Saturday. Hope ya'll like my layout!! :)
